The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...
Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

so I take it I should start drinkin' heavily... Well, I intend to.
But that's only because our furnace appears to be dead.

Yeah, yeah...laugh all you want. You don’t got an old woman upstairs already tied up in knots because of her arthritis.
And you didn’t put an alternator in your son’s car today (turns out it was that, not the fuel pump).
To: Corin Stormhands
sorry tuh hear ‘bout Nana... what’s the temp out there?
hope it’s somethin’ simple... like yer hi-speed modem was...
hope yuh got a deal on the alternator...

It’ll be in the 30s again tonight.
Nana will be okay, we just pile her under the ‘lectric blanket. It’s just that she has trouble keeping her feet warm.
I’m hoping that the line just got clogged on the furnace and that it’ll be something simple.
Not too bad on the alternator. That’s why God created plastic.
To: Corin Stormhands
Its just that she has trouble keeping her feet warm. Corin, do you have any dried beans? If you do, put a couple of handfuls in the microwave for several minutes, and then place the heated beans in a pillowcase for Nana's feet. The beans don't smell all that great, and won't take re-heating like dried corn will, but they will put out a lot of heat to warm up her toes! LSA

So far on 24.... there's been one reasonably decent twist. The Fayed switcheroo was worth of the first couple of seasons. The Biscuit had a clever line about the two jobs not being simultaneous. I still can't quite buy into Pres. Palmer II being either strong or presidental. The Biscuit may be gaga over him, but I'm sure not. Oh wait...he just collapsed!

She’s got a heating pad that cycles on and off for her feet. It’s mainly a circulatory thing. But thanks.

Major sharkiness if’n yuh ask me.

Yup - that shark is jumping higher than flipper.

Hey, I can sympathize with Nana. In the dead of winter, I need a heating pad for my feet to help me get to sleep.

Hope the service on the furnace repair prompt and effeciently done - stocking caps are great for cooler weather sleeping.
Don’t suppose you have a fireplace and an ax do you? We know you got plenty of standing timber.
To: ExGeeEye
Yeah...that’s what I thought at first too! LOL!
