Wow what a lot of work you put into this.

A question for you and all you other film buffs.

In Britain we do not use the word theater (theatre) when going to a film we say Cinema. A theatre is where a play or show is performed not a film shown.

Common or slang names are also

Pictures
Movies
Flicks

Do you use these terms ?

Hi Snugs.. you know technically we use theater for live performances also.

the building is also referred to as the movie "theater".

We use the term Movies and slang flicks most commonly.

The term Picture Show was once used commonly but not much any more.
