Well here's another dinosaur. My boys are always surprised when they borrow one of our history or "old" reading books, how history was taught in our "age" compared to theirs and how English usage was used then and how clean our stories were compared to books today.

When I was in grad school, one of my favorite professors confided to me that he was having "a God awful time" of choosing novels for his British novel course and could only depend on the 19th century and early 20th century novels, which were more circumspect (i.e.not vulgar) and would not get him into trouble. LOL
