When I was in grad school, one of my favorite professors confided to me that he was having "a God awful time" of choosing novels for his British novel course and could only depend on the 19th century and early 20th century novels, which were more circumspect (i.e.not vulgar) and would not get him into trouble. LOL

I don't know when this began, but I can remember the 60s when my girlfriend and her husband were upset their girls were not being taught art, literature etc, as we had been taught. Even home ec was about instant foods and not basic food planing etc, my area of interest. I Know I was a nurse, but my interest was and is homopathy and food. I don't think they teach music either, unless one is in a band..we were taught music appeciation.

If there are misspellings, blame it on my broken wrist. I'm typing, for the first time, with both hands. It's amazing which fingers are weak.
