I said nothing of the sort. I said it would be idiotic to jump into a situation that you know nothing about, that you have nothing to do with and with perps that you don't know are armed or otherwise dangerous. Jumping in and getting yourself injured or possibly killed, leaving your spouse a widow and your children orphaned, is about as insane and selfish a decision as one can make. Just so you can go home and say to yourself "I'm a really nice person, ain't I? I saved civilization today!"

Not too long ago, a single man waded into a huge pack of animals who were beating the holy hell out of three girls in Long Branch. By your reasoning, he was selfish and insane and acted only so that he could pat himself on the back.

Had you been witness to that scene instead of him, those girls may well have died. So, while I congratulate you on your cool logic, I can't help but think we need more insane idiots like him in the world.
