Didn't they have some Morgellons patients that showed up along the border with mexico? The disease sounds familiar.

"The greatest single threat to human health since the discovery of AIDS"
I was going to say Hillary, Oblama Mama, Barbara Boxer, Pelosi, Biden, Teddy, Schumer, Streisand, the Baldwins or Paris Hilton, you know, the usual suspects.

YES. And neighborhoods where the illegal population is larger will be the first to go nuclear in this epidemic.

I know it is. The CDC is in on this. However, the pronouncement that we will all get it is a little too sweeping.

And neighborhoods where the illegal population is larger will be the first to go nuclear in this epidemic. I believe you could be correct about that. IIRC, California has the highest outbreak of Morgellons.
I'm wondering if it's somehow tied into Lymes disease somehow. Maybe their molecular make ups are similar. Usually when you hear about one, the other isn't too far behind.

Dude, I hope it's just scabies, but you probably don't have scabies man, that's what everybody with this thinks it is at first, permithrin, Dexoprin, yep, been there done that. This things have adapted to live in our clothes, couches, tell me your symptoms in a private email and I can help. Don't let me scare you, perhaps it is scabies, but here me out.
For every person registered at morgellons.org there are a 1000+ more out there that know something is wrong with them, they itch, probably scabies or just dry skin they think, only nothings working, then come the lesions, the open soars, and things stranger than that, glitter will fall from their skin, crystals, and they might see their skin light up in total darkness. Go to radio shack, get a pocket scope for $9.99 and look at your skin, if you see graphite like black specs and red/blue fibers a 3rd of the width of a human hair all over and under your skin it ain't scabies.
If you do see that don't panic, there are some great communties helping each other, desperately waiting on the world the wake up to this, unfortunately we know it will only happen when so many have it they have to address it, and the point is approaching.
Meantime, you might try this
http://www.dexoprin.com/
Natural anti-fungals work great, Cinnamon and Clove tea, Pau-d Arco, cut out sweets, do an herbal colon cleanse, believe me, the american diet sets us up for this bigtime, we are a candida feeding feast for these things

There's a simple way to not get aids, just keep your pants on and zipped, etc. In other words, just say no.

Damn, MHG, post #67 has to be scaring the shit out of you.
Have you been to a doctor to verify that it is scabies? If not, get thyself to one.

The problem with most scabies OTC treatment regimens is the too low concentration of Permethrins ... the RID formula used by many for torso scabies is only a ten minutes of 1% concentration (method for the use of the shampoo). A 5% for 8 to 14 hours is needed to get the first treatment working. I found this out the hard way. Permethrins can be purchased from vets for use in humans, if you know what to do with the concentrations ... never use on cats because they will ingest it with licking.

I collected and viewed on a microscope to get this straight. And yes, it did scare the poo out at first, but the little buggers are very identifiable under magnification. My larger problem is my sad cousin who has had several strokes and is lacking in common sense and living alone in an apartment! I'm his main resource and he has a PhD in Bio-Physics but is no longer able to even use the Net.

Is he unable to medicate himself to get rid of the problem?

Look, if you do get this it will scare the crap out of you, but then you adjust, the only ones that die are those that commit suicide. You can leave a near normal life, only it takes work. I don't want to scare anybody, my post however is to alert people, it's much easier to catch this early before your covered in soars and get it under control, and you can, with anti-fungals and anti-bacterials, many are doing long term anti-parasiticals too, but not me, but I don't hear any of them saying "I'm cured" so I do everything healthy.
In many ways I'm healthier than ever, but as a grown man, I have often cried like a baby when my wife and kids go to bed, they have no idea of the burden, to be honest, given what I know to be true, I live in a world most don't know exists, I wish I didn't know about this, but I do, and I cannot just forget it now, it's a war with me. When I see folks at work smiling and laughing I think to myself, man, I remember when my worst fears were trivial like that, it's like a certain innocence has been taken from me.
I sleep on the couch, haven't touched my kids in, not a hug, not a pat on the back in longer than I'd care to admit, I do it all to protect them. But they want to hug me, and honestly, those are the best things in life, they have been taken from me. I will never be able to touch them again, never.
So I long for Heaven, my heavenly Father could remove this, indeed as He could all other plagues, but He does not, and so I trod on, not giving up, but hoping that some good doctor will help.
I don't see doctors, none of us do, they are no help at all. Been there done that.

Well, I all I wanted to do was alert freepers about this plague. To be honest, posts like this only hurt our cause, Morgellons is accidental, comlpletely irresponble for sure, but nontheless, you don't release something you yourself cannot escape from.
I don't want to sue, I don't feel victomised, I just want the medical community to wake up ... Given the tons of doctors I've seen I'd say I'm more open minded, truth seeking and concerned than any of them are, with 20 folks packed into rooms at 10 minutes a crack a new boat is easy, no, they don't practice medicine, they are merely prescribers for the pharmasuitical companies and most are entirely incapable of research, and don't even have an a simple scope to look at your skin, it's pathetic really.

I don't hold a patten on truth
I only ask questions in search of the truth. Before you dismiss my line of inquiry, I offer another article for your consideration. I have taken this research over many years, and have drawn upon many diverse sources. That's no guarantee of truth, but neither is relying totally upon a news media that represents the interests of their corporate sponsors.

I was a pharmaceutical rep for decades, calling on physicians, hospitals, and pharmacies. Your comment downgrading physicians is undeserved, and I say that from the experience of my decades in medicine.
Advances in the art of medicine have brought us to the point in the U.S. where the typical physician relies upon a medical professional in a lab dealing with physician acquired 'samples of patient tissues' to reach diagnostic decisions. Yet even this is not indicative of the physician feedback loops in the majority of the nation where physicians function as not just interviewers of patients, but diagnosticians using a broad spectrum of tools and literature updates to gather data for intelligent diagnosis and treatment options ... and keep in mind that you are expecting the typical human physician to keep up with a medical information explosion that is unprecedented in human history! [As a field rep, I regularly read JAMA, NJM, LANCET and ALL the clinical studies sent to me by just my pharmaceutical company!]
There is a new epidemic looming on the horizon daily ... and this one (Morgellons) is one among many, though very personal to you and others in your situation. This disease will succumb to the medical community war against disease. Being at the start of the epidemic of proliferation is the toughest situation to endure. But this disease will succumb. Count on it. Shucks guy, even an old sap like me is hard at work seeking connections to pass along, and I'm no longer an active member of the loop for physicians, but I learned to love the campaign. And I'm merely one of literally tens-of-thousands.
Presently, I suspect a combination assault including an absorption molecule (like DMSO) and an antimicrobial will end up curing this menace by getting below the keratolytic layer and delivering the antimicrobials. But who knows, the solution needs work!
