The only matter before this judge, is who gets custody of the body.
The next of kin is the mother, unless stern legally married anna.

Custody of the body only?? Stern is claiming he has the right as the baby's father since next of kin is the baby. Since that right is under protest, the baby comes under the protection of the court. You don't just let someone take a child because he CLAIMS to be the father.
