Final ruling on custody of Anna Nicole Smith's body expected today

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. A Florida appeals court is expected to decide today who gets custody of Anna Nicole Smith's body.

A panel of judges has asked lawyers to present oral arguments before it hands down a decision. Attorneys submitted written briefs yesterday in response to a petition filed by Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur.

Arthur appealed a lower court ruling to put Smith's body in the custody of the guardian of her infant daughter. And that attorney planned to have former model buried next to her son in the Bahamas. Arthur wants her daughter buried in her native Texas.

Arthur, meantime, has had her first visit with her granddaughter in the Bahamas. Arthur was seen crying and hugging a woman in the back seat of a sport utility vehicle as they left the home where Smith had lived with her partner, Howard K. Stern.

Just saw a report on Virgie's visit with her grandchild. They said she was not allowed to hold that baby!!!! I'm sorry but that is akin to torture! How Cruel Stern is.
