If Stern was signing papers for the boat, he would have wanted ANS there in front of witnesses. I think he left her at the hotel, in a stupor or in rigor.
I agree. She was on her way out when Howard left. That's why I wanted to know WHEN Howard made the appointment with the Dock master or whoever met him there. He had just arrived when he got the call and was about 40 feet from his car. They hadn't even gone unto the boat.
