Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

So this judge gets to decide if child needs a guardian for right now?

I didn't hear that part, but I heard Court TV report that a Guardian ad Litem had been appointed.
The judge appointed a guardian this morning. It's upthread and he sounds like the real deal.
I'm just a little worried about HKS trying to play the race card in re: Dannielynn.
DNA will preclude that, so how long can he hold out?

I found it amusing when Howies atty. said she didn't want the will to be seen because of all the publicity! YO! Blondie! Your creepy client is on TV every frigging night! Along with pics of Dannilynn....makes me crazy!
OMG, I didn't hear that part. So their logic is that it's OK for HKS to SELL video images of his reunion with the baby to Mark Steines and ET, however they need to protect 'the will' from publicity!

Nassau - Anna Nicole Smith's mother wants to be named guardian of the former Playboy model's 5-month-old daughter, fearing Smith's partner will leave with the infant as he faces a three-way paternity dispute, her lawyers said.
Lawyers for Vergie Arthur said on Wednesday that they will go before a judge in the Bahamas on February 22 to seek custody of the infant, whose paternity has been challenged, from Smith's partner, Howard K Stern.
Desmar Henfield, one of several Bahamian attorney's working on Arthur's case, said they would argue that the grandmother can provide a more stable home environment than Stern, who has moved back to the mansion the couple shared before Smith died last week in Florida.
"Howard Stern's environment - all the media attention, all the uncertainty - I don't think that is a stable and secure place for a baby at this point," Henfield said.
Stern did not return phone calls seeking comment.

How can this Florida Judge order a Guardian for the baby who is in the Bahama's? - Is this because Anna's remains are in the Florida and because no Will has been produced?
Will the Bahamian government honor what is be ruled in Florida? Will they (Bahamian Government) allow the court ordered guardian to go and pick up the baby in the Bahama's?

Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, who prescribed methadone to Anna Nicole Smith when she was 8-months pregnant, tried to avoid the press last night by hiding under a blanket and being trundled into the back of a waiting SUV. That's how he rolls!
Beth of CTV just said he did appoint a guardian for Dannilynn. I don't know if it's just for this hearing, but I bet not.
He didn't appoint a guardian as in "custody" of the child, he appointed a guardian ad litem, which is an attorney to stand in an represent the child's interest in these court proceedings in FL.
Yep. Barth swore on her law liscense that HKS is executer of a will.....but she doesn't want to probate it because of the media. Now, I want to know if in fact there is a gravesite next to Daniel and if in fact ANS purchased it. If HKS bought it....well....
All I know is that the judge told the guardian to "pack a bag; you're going to be traveling".
Ohh,so they represent the baby but do not pick up the baby?
