Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Here's something I didn't know til just now - replayed on the MSNBC program - that last night evidently Shane Gibson's father claimed that Anna Nicole wanted to "expand her family" and adopt a Bahamian child.
Did anybody else know that?
I agree...I hope Perper doesn't tip the legal defense team of HK$ during one of these interviews. As for Wecht, he is a publicity hound, but he really does know his stuff. He is a professor of law at Duquesne University, and a medical professor at the University of Pittsburgh (many advanced degrees in law and medicine) so he really is an expert. And now that he is only in private practice, I think he uses his 'expert media' appearances to bolster his private lab/speaking engagements. Just my take...

Why would he say that? He makes the third of THAT family to enter this saga, as Shane Gibson's brother was reported to be the captain of the boat.

Yes. To investigate the death of Daniel Smith. He concluded that it was a cocktail of methadone and two prescription anti-depressants that contributed to his death...but not in 'lethal doses' but as a combined affect. He also made the comparison (on ANS's death) that methadone, if present, could have triggered a genetic heart anomoly which would be deadly. ANS could have passed the genetic defect onto Daniel (and possibly DanniLynn). Wecht used a term (like) vexed as to how Daniel came to have methadone in his system...as the anti-depressants were prescribed for him, but he had no Rx for the methadone.

Lost comes on tonight. That and 24 are the only tv shows that I watch that are not news shows or HGTV/TLC. It's very weird watching 24 and Lost every week because I saw ALL the previous episodes and seasons on dvd.
I think a repeat (don't know which one) comes on at 8p and then the new one at 9p so I don't know actually when I will disappear. I'll try to monitor the thread if I can lol!

Isn't a contingency based on suing for damages (and no payment is made to the atty unless the plaintiffs case is won by said lawyer)? From what we have seen, it seems like HK$ was ANS manager/legal advisor. Isn't it odd that he would'nt be paid for his services? Hmmmmm....
But the MSNBC program replayed him saying just that - that ANS (as a result of her close relationship with Shane Gibson - and his family?????) had said she wanted to "expand her family" and "adopt a Bahamian child".
Perhaps to replace her son Daniel?????
Perhaps as proof of her "Bahamian residence" being permanent???
Who knows.
Poor Anna NIcole Smith. The more I have read today about her (whether all true or not) the more I just feel so sorry for her. I see her as someone who lost her "self" especially under the influence of this diabolical HKS. She of course bore responsibility too. But she was so DESPERATE for love.
And all the fame, the glitter, the glamour just led her into one trap after another.
My question and what I hope LEO and ME - someone who really wants the TRUTH are asking: Would ANS be DEAD now had it not been for the terrible influence of one Howard K Stern.
I just do not think so.
