Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Watching the television reportage on this yesterday somewhat sickened me. I know she was a stripper, a playmate, etc. However, to see some of the people come on FNC and talk about her death with glee - especially some of the women talking heads. It was disturbing.
What sent me in a tizzy was her "nurse" called for help?

When I heard on the local "Catholic" of all places that a Smith woman left said Hotel with a tube in her throat....I went Cripes they opened up her air way short of a trach (intubated) not good. She was code when they got there.
I liked the Gal regardless of her lack of education and ability to care for her self fiscally.
She was/is a beauty. And I don't care if I miss pell I am crying.

Kind of an odd coincidence...Dr. Perper was the Allegheny County coroner in between Dr. Cyril Wecht's two terms. One did autopsy on the son, the other will be doing the same for the mom.
Wow, that is odd! Is that the correct spelling - Perper? Our local TV news gets things wrong a lot and they showed it as Pepper a few minutes ago.
'Course, they called Howard Stern her husband, too, and talked about her "re-marriage" last year.
Her mother is going to be on GMA in a little while - we're getting a preview on local news now. Oh, wait - no, we're not. They teased us and didn't play it.
Is a red velvet body bag unusual? They keep showing it and calling it red velvet, so I guess it is. Is that "special" or maybe just what they use all the time there?
Perper is the correct spelling. I thought the name sounded familiar so I googled it and the first hit was a local Pgh article about the county coroner's office and it mentioned both doctors.

No not unusual at all when you call for the "midnight man" they have a

She may have been intubated at the hotel and never revived so then they call in the Funeral Director.
My bizz scene At the "time" and time so no the covering is just a respectable way to transport and it makes it less upsetting than say a trauma body bag. Hospitals have this quite often but we are called to respect the dead as it is "taken" with care. I will spare you the clean up on aisle 9 before the nice man with the "red" velvet courts the loved one out....

ANS had been on bad terms with her mother for a long time. She was quoted as saying, long ago, that her mother had been tough on her growing up, and that she was taking the opposite course with her own son. Neither approach seems to have worked very well.
Yeah, when she didn't tart herself up and go for the way-over-the-top Marilyn impersonation, Anna Nicole really was beautiful. It's odd that those pictures of her walking with her scumbag lawyer/husbandsubstitute from the Supreme Court may be some of her most flattering pictures in the past several years.

Also, about the intubation - you know they adminstered Narcan. Did you already post that or know that? They acted like it was new news awhile ago - but we had it on here at the start.
Oh, I slept through the whole first reporting of it, so I don't know exatly *when* it was reported.
Also, now they're saying Howard Stern *was* in the room, but had left and then he came back to direct the resuscitation efforts and relay her medical background info to paramedics.
But technically, he wasn't there when ANS "collapsed" or was "found unresponsive" by the nurse.

WCBS-TV is reporting that investigators probing the cause of model Anna Nicole Smith's death found drugs in her hotel room - some, illegal - and expect a toxicological report on whether they contributed to her death.
Sheriff's deputies were seen carrying out at least eight brown bags from Smith's hotel room, each sealed with red evidence tape.
