Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

Hey... don't think I was being hard on you today about Virgie. I understand how you feel but unfortunately it looks like the Bahamas is going to be making the call on the custody issue and Virgie is the shoe-in due to their laws. Birkhead can fight her for custody in the states after Virgie brings the baby back over here. No matter what there was going to be a custody battle on US soil over this baby for Birkhead.

Virgie is better than Stern any day I think. But yes Larry should get custody of the baby but that is not going to happen in the Bahamas unless the DNA test is done proving Larry is the father and if they consider Larry's income to be the better income to support the baby and her needs.

The longer that baby is with Stern the better chance he has over there to get custody of her. Things are just not happening fast enough for me. I want the baby out of Stern's care and custody now. I am pissed off that Bahamians think that they have the right to say who gets custody of this baby. They should have thrown Stern off the island and turned the baby over to the US Embassy. Maybe just maybe Stern will end up in prison over there.

Hey y'all. Just catching up on the day's events. Boy, ol' Howie sure is being very generous in recent days, isn't he?

Hey, I have a question...

Regarding Brigitte the so-called nurse who first noticed something wrong with Anna...has it ever been mentioned what time she phoned Howard? I've seen only one account which claims the call came into Howard's cell at around 1:05 pm. Is this the correct time?

Stern is going to wish he never went to the Bahamas if he ends up doing time in the Bahamian "Her Majesty's Fox Hill Prison." (the only prison they have)

Talk about a rough place...

When does Mo work?? He's supposedly an EMT in Miami. They must have great vacation time!

I'm quickly losing respect for Gretas interviewing skills.

Brigitte wasn't the nurse. "Tas" or Tasma, Brighthaupt, wife of Mo or Moe (Maurice) Brighthaupt, was the nurse. Tas called her husband Mo, the "bodyguard," who was elsewhere off-site.

Mo started driving back to the hotel and called Howard while he was doing that. Then he called the hotel "liaison," whoever that was, and the liaison called the Seminole Police Dept. Then the Seminole PD called the main 911 for Broward County.

The call from Seminole PD has been released to the public, but the one from the hotel person to the PD has not. That PD to Broward one came in at 1:39 PM.

Bruck, the boat dealer who was with Stern when he got the call from Mo, said it was approximately 1:15 PM when HKS had to leave in a hurry.

" He is so dumb. I cannot believe he said, "It sometimes takes MONTHS and YEARS to get over the pain inside a woman if she has a C-section." So Anna needed pain meds."

When my wife saw this part, she said this guy is trying so hard to be smart, instead he comes off looking like a fool.

Slow Mo to Greta
" She just had a baby through C-section.
I don't know if you are a mother or anything, but, women don't get over C-section pain and the scars inside them in a couple of months.
Sometimes, it takes years before they don't have any pain through epidurals and stuff like that.
Anna had an epidural, she was in pain."

New Claims: Anna Nicole's Hidden Illness
Disneyland Pal Says She Suffered From Lupus

(CBS) A man who said he was a longtime friend of Anna Nicole Smith said the ex-Playmate suffered from the autoimmune disease lupus.

"I never told anyone this," Frank Rodriguez told "The Insider" in an exclusive interview. "She asked me to swear I would never, ever ever tell anybody."

Rodriguez said he is speaking out now because he doesn't like people calling the late starlet "a drug addict."

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Author: L Seiden and A Krumholz
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease characterized by circulating autoantibodies and immune complexes.1 The disorder most commonly affects young, nonwhite women. The overall prevalence is approximately 50 per 100,000, but the prevalence among young women approaches 1 in 1,000.2

The neurologic diagnoses associated with SLE include stroke, seizure, dementia, psychosis, and peripheral neuropathy.3 CNS involvement has been reported in up to 75% of SLE patients,3 with seizures occurring in up to 50% of patients by the time of death.3,4

The systemic effects of SLE are widespread, most commonly involving the joints and the skin:

symmetric arthritis in both large and small joints
malar "butterfly" rash (considered characteristic)
kidney disorders, most often glomerulonephritis (in up to 50% of cases)
cardiac effects: pericarditis or myocarditis
pulmonary effects: pleurisy, pneumonitis
hematologic effects: anemia, leukopenia, or thrombocytopenia
constitutional symptoms: fever, fatigue, and myalgia

~Snip~

Diagnosis
The diagnosis of SLE is based on a combination of clinical and laboratory data:

The 1982 American College of Rheumatology criteria for the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus*

Malar rash
Discoid rash
Photosensitivity
Oral or nasopharyngeal ulcers, or both
Nonerosive arthritis
Pleuritis or pericarditis
Renal dysfunction: proteinuria above 0.5 g/dL or cellular casts
Seizures or psychosis
Hematologic disorder: hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, or thrombocytopenia
Immunologic disorder: anti-double-stranded DNA or anti-Sm antibodies
Antinuclear antibodies
The diagnosis of SLE is established when any four of these criteria are met at any point during the disease. Early in the course of illness, the diagnosis may be difficult to make because the patient may not fulfill all the necessary criteria.

SLE may be confused with disorders whose manifestations are included in its diagnostic criteria, including

rheumatoid arthritis
dermatitis (various forms)
hematologic disorders (e.g., idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura)
neurologic disorders (e.g., MS)

Well, Frank, maybe she lied. Lupus sounds better than "I'm so drugged up I can't function like a normal person". Generates a lot more sympathy, too!

Anna Nicole Smith Secret Baby Daddy Meeting
Tuesday, February 27, 2007

Howard K. Stern and his lawyer, Ron Rale, have been playing an aggressive game with Larry Birkhead since the body custody hearing ended last Thursday. The two men, of course, are claiming paternity of dead celebrity Anna Nicole Smith's 5-month-old daughter Dannielynn.

The winner of the baby would get access to the child's possible multimillion-dollar inheritance (thanks to Smith’s clever marriage to dead billionaire J. Howard Marshall). They would also get the baby.

Sources tell me that following Judge Larry Seidlin’s atrocious performance on the bench Friday, Rale and Stern strong-armed Birkhead into a secret meeting that excluded Debra Opri, Birkhead’s attorney. Opri was said to horrified when she learned that Birkhead allowed Stern and Rale to “rale-road” her client into such a meeting.

“Larry is very peace and love,” says my source, “while Debra is very aggressive. Sometimes they disagree about what to do.”

The meeting, I’m told, is what led to the footage of Stern and Birkhead leaving court arm-in-arm last week.

What’s clear, though, is that Stern and Rale are working full time to split Birkhead and Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur. So far, the pair have aligned themselves with one another. Arthur is fighting to have her daughter buried in Texas, while Seidlin has ordered Smith’s body turned over to the baby’s court-appointed attorney guardian. The guardian agrees with Stern that Smith should be buried in the Bahamas, next to her recently deceased son, Daniel.

Opri can’t be happy with Birkhead’s tendency to ignore her advice. According to sources, she’s been paying all his expenses on this crusade to recover a baby he believes is biologically his.
Birkhead’s finances, meantime, are an issue.

“He lives in a crummy one-bedroom apartment in Burbank,” says a source. “If he gets the baby, he’ll need a much better place, and one with security.”

This means the supposed secret meeting took place in that less than an hour between the judge's ruling and the arm in arm press conference. I distinctly recall Opri saying she sat the three down and got them to agree. Opri also said Larry would be seeing his daughter at the funeral and she thanked Stern for that. This was at the arm in arm press conference. So I don't see how there was a secret meeting without Opri's knowledge during that same short time span, where Opri was present. This story smells foul.

LOL! I forgot the part about the lingering pain from epidurals! Thanks so much! I'm glad you saw it, too. I was trying to stay awake to see the repeat of Greta, but I couldn't do it. Watching Moe give an account of what went on is like watching the Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf at the beginning of the war. Remember?

Hi Rte66 OP here.
I was thinking of how glued to Amma HKS seemed poor girl could not even have a bowel movement in privacy. (this was actually on one of her shows him stalking her when they ate out and she went poddy)
Any way I was thinking LB and HKS must have been buddies the 2yrs Anna was LK's girl.

Kinda creepy (I sense) the boyz are getting along perhaps to agree there is enough $$$$$$$ for them to share.

Did you see the Nancy Grace show that Anna long time freind was on talking about what a creep HKS was and Danial Horowitz was interupting in HKS defense saying some really outlandish crude things (can't remember word for word)?
Old Nancy turned to him and gave him one heck of a tongue lashing.
I went from a dropped jaw listening to him to cheering on NG for biting him.
I see Horrorwitz has not changed after all.
Have you heard anything on the sentencing of Polk? Caught a blip about a week ago that is was coming up.
