Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

Very well said, I agree.

"People get reinterred all the time. The judge is making the best decision "at this time" and under these circumstances."

I'm aware that people get reinterred all the time. But not only is it extremely expensive, but do you know Bahamiam rules regarding that?

Yeah that too. I would like to know more about that 2 week hospital stay that Larry described in his testimony, when she was detoxing, and HKS was adding drugs from his duffel bag to the IV.

Sure shows why people in rehab have to be isolated from the other people in their life.

Piro is an attorney of excellence. Nice to hear of her opinion.

The best thing about this whole decision is that Anna's family will be able to be at the burial AND that Howard isn't going to make a mockery of her death and get the big bucks for it.

Howard lost the powers of him being the "Natural Guardian" (father) as soon as the guardian ad litem was chosen. The judge WAS WISE and basically told Howard...okay...ya wanta play games...ya wanta make a deal...you don't want to prove you're the natural father....Watch this....and he appointed the guardian ad litem!!! Had Howard given evidence that he was the natural father, that would NOT have happened.

Moral: Socrates takes all!!

If she was hands-free why couldn't she dial 911?

Since ANS was obviously in a whole lot of trouble why didn't she dial 911 instead of Moe?

When it was obvious she was dead or dying why did she wait for Moe and why did she and Moe wait for HKS before anyone dialed 911?

Paramedics arrived at the Hard Rock at 1:45, they were called at 1:39

HKS was called between 1:00 and 1:15.

It was a 20 minute drive from the Yacht dealer to the Hard Rock, add in time to ride the elevators and if he was called at 1:15 that just gave HKS time to arrive at her room and tell them to call 911.

What time did he call Doctor Ershevich?

The rules are probably nothing more serious than making payment to the cemetery for their part. Likely, they could sell the plot....but of course, Howard would put some kind of Memorial on it, go click, click and sell the pictures. They were bought "under his name".

There was a recent case in Tennessee where it was decided the BIOLOGICAL parents could get back their child who had been living with foster parents for the past 5 years or so.

Unless the foster parents were seriously abusive, that is a HORRIBLE ruling. Ripping a 5-year-old child from his parents is the worst cruelty.

Often they use the liver temperature (sometimes temps of other internal organs) to determine the approximate time of death.

Wouldn't a nurse likely have 911 programed into the phone? Also, what was to stop Moe from calling 911 while he was taking the ten minutes to get to the hotel? Same thing about HKS, why didn't he inform them call 911?

I don't know. I believe it depends how long they were dead in general.

You don't think there are any laws regarding exhuming a dead body and shipping it to the United States? I doubt that. Even if there no or few legal complications, the expenses of 1) unearthing the body in the Bahamas, 2) shipping it to Texas, and 3) reburying the body is going to be cost prohibitive to most families. ANS family doesn't have a lot of money, nor does Billy Smith, who, IIRC, told the court yesterday that he would prefer his son and Anna to be buried together in TX, but he wouldn't be able to afford it.

So if Stern manages to delay this for five years, he should automatically get custody? Children are more resilient than we give them credit for.

I think that may be possible.

"Wouldn't a nurse likely have 911 programed into the phone?"

Particularly a nurse with a patient who had suffered from a 105 degree temperature and a fall in the bathtub earlier in the week?

I guess, if you knew that a hospital visit, might lead to arrest, you can't call 911.

Bingo! That is the reason for the delay in calling 911. ANS was an addict and if she hadn't died, that call would have caused a lot of publicity and big, big problems with her for a long time into the future.
