Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

I had wondered that also. She is a US citizen, and her parents are US citizens. So, the US claim is just as equal.

You still have to determine what state has jurisdiction- family law is a state issue, not federal. Dannilyn has never been to FL, she was born in the Bahamas to a U.S. citizen, making her a citizen of U.S., but what state is she a resident of? Custody jurisdiction is typically decided on where the child has lived for the past six months, or if the child is under six months, where she is born.

Now if Stern is kicked out of the Bahamas, and Dannilyn is not a citizen of the Bahamas, then I believe a court in FL or better yet CA would be able to establish jurisdiction by default.

I don't know if all of this applies to the paternity issue- it may be different rules for jurisdiction.

ANS and HKS had returned to the US a couple of times, to the Seminole Hard Rock, but they never brought the baby.

I wish we could ask ANS why she buried Daniel in the Bahamas, but since she's dead, we have the testimony of HKS, which goes: 'We intended to make our home here, in the Bahamas and this is where she wanted him buried.

And then we have the testimony of Ford Shelly, who said that he had his attorneys in South Carolina research paternity issues for ANS, and they decided on the Bahamas. So yeah, they fled the US, to the Bahamas, to get the baby out of the range of Larry Birkhead's paternity suit.

Anyone who thinks that Howard won is kidding him/herself. Just think about it and ask yourself (and this is a little hard to write): If you were 7 years old and you just lost your brother, what would you say if someone asked you: Where do you think we should bury mommy?

Hated to ask that but this whole affair has made me desirous of having my brother reinterred and buried next to his dad. He died young. We couldn't afford a family plot...but I'd sell everything I have right now to make it happen because I know it would please my father and would be the right thing to do.

So, I believe that someday, both Daniel and Anna will come back to the USA to a proper family burial site.

I think it was posted here that tour busses or tours are already being given of Daniel's grave and passing by Horizon. Either the Bahamians will love HKS for it, or want him to get out. I think they'll go with the $$$$$, don't you? :(

I read on some board that HKS parents are going to buy him a house there, so if he has citizenship he wins.

I believe they also fled to the Bahamas to avoid drug testing on the baby after she was born. There really is little doubt that poor baby was born drug addicted. Had ANS given birth in the US and any doctor suspected drug abuse, the authorities must by law be notified. ANS might well have lost her daughter and that would be just the start of her problems.

Reading your post reminded me of an attorney last night on Greta. I think it was Jeanine Pirro who said that under Florida law the child has to be 18 and over to decide where a parent is buried and that this was a good reason she thought the appeal could go through.

I also fear that a proper investigation has not/will not be done regarding Daniel's death.

That goes with my thoughts that Howard was "laundering" money through his family.

If you will buy drugs under phoney names, you are more than capable of laundering money and as soon as the sister said "The family has been supporting him", I knew (we all knew) that it was just another damn lie......(Remind you of Snotty Petersons family??)

It appears to me that everything was about ANS. It was all about me, me me. Selfish and greedy. And now, her children get to pay the price. Some people just shouldn't have children. ANS fits into that category quite nicely.

I have no doubts that she loved her son very much. I also think she was a very unfit mother. It's too late for Daniel, lets hope it isn't to late for Dannielynn. The paternity test needs to be done NOW.

You're right, but this guy surprises me with his contacts and how he planned all this out to get where he is so far. I am hoping that without Anna, he is nothing. She was his "bait."

Control. With ANS drugged HKS could control her money, where they went, where they lived, who their "friends" were, what appearances she made, who she talked to, who she didn't talk to... Also, addicts love only one thing and that is whatever they are addicted to. When they get their substance of choice all they can think about is getting their next fix. HKS controlled the drugs so ANS had to do what he wanted in order to keep getting her fixes. Sad but true.

I agree, if they cared about Daniel's unusual death, they would have investigated already and not kept moving an inquest to a later date.

Obviously they don't want bad publicity for their country, and will leave HKS alone.

Yep, Daniel was going to be 21 in Jan. Howie knew that. We also know that HKS got rid of anyone close to Anna. Daniel had probably been a thorn in Howies side for years. And now, at 21, he might have challenged HKS hold on his mom.
