Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Coroner just said his order is under appeal.
Thank God it was over today!
sw
already had his mind made up. I think he came in this morning with it decided and no one said anything to change it during the course of the day....
I personally think this public display of unity is also for show. They are all trying to get along with the guardian ad litem, for obvious reasons. I don't think they are friends whatsoever.
So GAL stands for Gay Advocate Lawyer????
/wink
Perper is saying that it is his opionion that the appeal will fail
So if order is under appeal is the body moving anywhere?
I think Larry is for real. I really don't see him as being a bad guy at all. I think Virgie will always hate Howard because she believes that he killed Daniel for sure...and suspects he killed Anna.
Judge: Baby's guardian gets Smith's body
By MATT SEDENSKY, Associated Press Writer
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Blubbering as he announced his ruling, a judge said Thursday he hopes Anna Nicole Smith will be buried in the Bahamas, but he left the decision up to the guardian of her baby daughter.
Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin steered a surprise middle course in the dispute, which became more urgent by the day when the medical examiner warned that the centerfold's body was rapidly decomposing from her death two weeks ago.
Smith's estranged mother wanted her buried in her native Texas, while Smith's boyfriend wanted her laid to rest in the Bahamas.
The judge compromised and gave custody to attorney Richard Milstein, the guardian for Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.
It wasn't immediately clear what Milstein would do, but the judge expressed his own preference: "I want her to be buried with her son in the Bahamas. I want them to be together."
The judge choked up frequently and wept as he explained his decision.
Smith died Feb. 8 in a Florida hotel of unknown causes. The dispute over the burial was one of many surrounding Smith. Her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, is listed as Dannielynn's father on the child's birth certificate, but Smith's ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, said the girl was his. A California judge is handling the paternity case.
Stern had been hunched over a table with his hands folded as he awaited Seidlin's ruling. He wiped away tears after the decision. Arthur covered her eyes.
Milstein works for the Miami office of the Akerman Senterfitt law firm. He has 30 years of experience and specializes in guardianship, probate and mediation, according to the firm's Web site.
He did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment from The Associated Press.
I don't know how up he was, sounded like he was a division manager. IF so, he made a decent salary and people working at Hughes in the 90's did very well in the company 401K plan (we have a friend retired from Hughes).
When Opri said that LB will be seeing his daughter very soon and she thanked HKS it was very wierd. Somethings going on there??? HKS hung his head when she said that. Is HKS trying to be complicit and eventually bow out of this before he gets into REAL trouble???
Exactly. How could the judge have had a LONG order written out if he hadn't already written it BEFORE he even heard today's testimony? The bottomline, he knew what he wanted to do all along and the rest of it was merely for our entertainment.
Wait! I have a perfect ending....or start of the sequel...
Toad and Larry will become domestic partners and raise Dannilynn in peace and harmony....
:-)
Celery and egg whites??????? OMG! I've been munching on leftover Christmas candy this afternoon. Didn't want to leave long enough to get fresh munchies. I was ready to celebrate - could not believe it came down to this with the judge sobbing all over his podium.
Who appealed? Virgie I am guessing?
"Let me be the first to say it:
"It's better in the Bahamas!!!"
And as they say:
Okay, mon, don't worry, be happy.
