Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

I like Rush too, but I think this case is capturing so much attention because it is so riveting (fact wise). You have beauty, innocents (DannieLynn), a villian, smarmy lawyers, murder(?), greed, drugs, sex...the only thing missing is the rock and roll (and I don't think the final local of the Hard Rock covers that one). It is kind of like a trashy novella sprung to life for a culture that doesn't read anymore.

Oh yes...sadly. The 'govt. employees provided the roses; some funeral home did the lighting and makeup...and I don't know who put up the drapes...but there definitely were drapes (hopefully with no sequins).

Uhm, I thought I just heard it said on NG that Gibson's father owned the yacht. The 'nurse' who found Anna, it was my understanding that it was her husband who was going to pilot the boat back...

Yes, just snorkeling somewhere on probably the NE side, can't remember the name of the specific bay - land was Rockefeller's so we didn't go ashore - saw some barracudas upcloseandpersonal, lol.
We had been to an island nearby, Jost Van Dyke. I was staying in the BVI, on Tortola. Those are the next islands over from you.
