The boy loved it!
Who says our boys are not athletes? Jr was laughing when most others would have been out of breath, green in the face and speaking to the barf bag.
And he was laughing.........bleep......bleep.....too funny!
I loved the part where he says "HA HA HA... What the hey..ell whose idea was that? HA HA HA.....I love his laugh.........what a ride!!"
That was when they went upside down over the mountain.
LOL, yes it does!
I remember that wreck and ensuing fire. very not cool! I think that scared jr. forever!
Well, to tear your eardrums apart you MUST see the MotoGP bikes. Completely uncorked 1000cc bikes that required spectators to wear hearing protection at Laguna Seca! Laguna normally has a 98db limit, but these bikes cranking out 280hp, weighing in at about 320 lbs, revving to 18,000 rpm really needs to be seen to be believed.
Too bad those bikes don't run at Daytona. They actually accelerate FASTER than F1 cars. 0-200 in 15 seconds for MotoGP vs 16 for the F1 cars. Oh and the body english that goes into riding these bikes. You can tell they aren't riding in a barco-lounger like a nascar seat. :)
pfffft! Rookie stuff.
850hp. 3400 pounds of beast. 9,000+ rpm.
Not to worry. The car on your right is 3" away. Same for the car on your left. And the idiot behind you is saying "Hello!" with his front bumper (I'd like to see that with motor cycles). Lots of room.
206mph, into turn one we go...come on guys...no f*** up's...sure hope the idiot next to me (behind me / in front of me, etc.) know's what the hell they are doing.
Ain't no hay bales here, either. Just hard walls and 42 other 3400 lb. objects flying around.
Not even close, dude.
I tried to keep my bias level real low. How'd I do?
:)
Any idea when that was done?
It really does say a lot about his physical conditioning....not many (non flyers) can do that.
and laugh........that was great!
I was waiting for him to say, "Damn, I'm gonna have to get me one of these!"
Too good!
I'm not jealous of much, but I am highly envious of any civilian who gets a ride like that.
Looks like we are there!
THANK God!!!!!! I can't wait!
That was early last year around the time they were in Fontana. A little side trip to El Centro for that ride.
All this was shortly after he got the Navy sponsorship for the 88.
It has been a long winter, in more ways than one!
Want be the same without BP.
So true, I to will miss him.
The man had a strong determination, working while being so ill
made me respect him even more.
May God bless his family and give them piece.
did you say 3" away? how about rubbing elbows, oh and occasionally there is contact! Now that's close ;)

01
ZERO ONE: Mark Martin has started every Shootout since 1989 in a #6 Ford, but will make his debut Saturday night, Feb. 10 in the #01 Army Chevrolet. His first start in the event was 1982, in the #2 Apache Stove Buick. He finished eighth. Mark won the Shootout in 1999.
1
PERFECT RECORD: Denny Hamlins average finish is a perfect 1 after his only start ended in Victory Lane in 2006. While he is the fifth driver to win in his first Budweiser Shootout start, he is the first true Rookie-of-the-Year contender to win.

lol, yeah ok I do like NASCAR too, but deep down I'm a biker, so I gotta give those racers kudos.
I'm going to have to print out a roster so I can remember all the driver changes (hard to picture a lefty like Martin in the Army car).
I had no idea this was the 29th year of the shootout. I was actually a youngun when it started.
In case anyone is interested.
NEW YORK (AP) - NASCAR star Jeff Gordon and his supermodel wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, will be welcoming a baby girl in July.
They recently learned the gender of their baby.
"I'm trying to tell everyone, 'Not just pink!"' Vandebosch says in the upcoming issue of Us Weekly.
While considering names, they're also planning a three-day trip to the Bahamas for Valentine's Day.
