Do you know if there is a document (newspaper article, book, etc) from the '60's where the 'militants' laid out their plan to take over the country by inflitrating education,politics and the media?

I've read about this theory, but I've never seen it documented.

If this plan exisits on paper, I'd like to get my hands on it.

They are using this tactic today on any number of Republican leaders....Bush...Cheney...Rumsfeld.

Pick the target. Target an individual, personalize the attack, polarize and demoralize his/her supporters. Go after people, not institutions. Hurting, harassing, and humiliating individuals, especially leaders, causes more rapid organizational change

About the only thing that might reference something like that (that I know about) would be some of David Horowitz's writings. He was a member of the leftists at that time and knows a lot of stuff.

You may also want to take a look at this paper, Why There Is A Culture War, in which the theory of Antonio Gramsci is laid out to be the foundation for today's lefties: The personal IS political; Morality based on groups; and 'organic intellectual reeducation' through the infiltration of institutions that pass on societal values (i.e. tearing down and re-building educational institutions and even/especially churches)...

Also interesting in the paper is what the author calls the rise of 'Toquevillianism' to counter the Gramscian world-view, the 'Trinity of American Exceptionalism', to wit:

(1) dynamism (support for equality of individual opportunity, entrepreneurship, and economic progress);
(2) religiosity (emphasis on character development, mores, and voluntary cultural associations) that works to contain the excessive individual egoism that dynamism sometimes fosters; and
(3) patriotism (love of country, self-government, and support for constitutional limits).

...all three of which make America unique in its march to modernity, and totally at odds with the politically correct crowd... ;-))
