Guard dogs protecting a fruit orchard in Malaysia have met their match -- a 7.1-metre-long (23-ft-long) python that swallowed at least 11 hounds before it was finally discovered by villagers.
"I was shocked to see such a huge python," orchard-keeper Ali Yusof told the New Straits Times in an article published beneath a picture of the captured snake, which was almost long enough to span the width of a tennis court and as thick as a tree trunk.
Villagers did not harm the snake, which was tied to a tree then handed to wildlife officials, the paper said on Friday.

Crikey, ain't she a beeeeauuuuty!
Speaking of which, did you get a chance to watch "Crikey, What An Adveture" last night on Animal Planet?
We haven't watched it yet, but we DVR'd both shows.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Obviously the python.
It was weird watching Steve, and hearing somebody else do the narration (Jacques Cousteau Jr.). Fairly poinent towards the end, but definitely upbeat. His duaghter has his personality, and I bet she's going to be a star at whatever she does.
I find it hard to believe that 9 guard dogs couldn't take that snake.
* a 2-penised, erect iguana,
* a 6-legged, 2-tailed cow, and
* an 11-dog-eating python
What's next?
A example of BIG GOVERNMENT
Agreed, it's been a little odd to watch him in all his older shows when they've been on, it's not as fun when you know how it ends. But I hope to get over that. Just waiting for the right mood to watch them, probably over the weekend.
He didn't go after all nine dogs at once... they just kept disappearin', you know?
It's Weird Animal Day here on FR! So far we have had:
* a 2-penised, erect iguana,
* a 6-legged, 2-tailed cow, and
* an 11-dog-eating python
What's next?
...
Two french fries,
And a cartidge in a spare tree.
But he didn't eat any of the fruit, and who knows he could have even eaten a small trespasser or two.
The article didn't say that it was all in one sitting.
Now, what they did do was use the bulges: they had to tie the rope to the snake between the bulges for each dog or it would have slipped free from the tree...
Sort of like an 11-ft sausage hot-dog production line.....
Well, we have a moderate muslim member who posted a thoughtful thread, only to be crapped on by the first reply. :~(
