Well, yeah, unfortunately, there is a thing called "space" that limits me, a 1950's era ranch house isn't the most spacious place to have. I guess packrats come in all types, one of my co-worker's father is one, he was a Sears appliance repairman and he has everything from A/C units, to refridgerators, to microwave, to, yes, even TV's. He has several roundies.
I lost a good frined of mine I met online in Colorado, he was only 35 and passed away from complications of lymphatic cancer. He studied archeology in college and alwaus said, "history owes a lot to packrats." A lot of great literary and science works might not have survived if it were not for packrats. Also packrats tend to be mechanics, historians, archeologists, repairmen and tinkerers of all stripes.
As to the packrat/woman thing well, I guess it is up to each of us to see what needs to be done. I know maybe I would have to curb mine a bit, but like my father, being a packrat himself, well, it never truly goes away. Still I'm sure if things happen in your case, plenty of AK'ers will give your things a good home.
A side note, some might thing I'm a nut for preferring a roundie to a DLP or Plasma TV, but then again, I always liked the old stuff plus I think plasma sets do burn out quick and I did see your post about smokers and DLP sets where the smoke gets on the mirrors and screws things up. I doubt such tiny mirrors would lend themselves to being cleaned so unless you get a new DLP module or whatever you need to do to fix them, you could be SOL on DLP TV. DLP to me, is al ot like the old mechanical disc TV's, going through a lot of unecessary BS to do a job that is much easier to do by easier and more true methods.

But they do high-definition. The old ones don't.

N-E-buddy here?
I thought of another guilty pleasure after reading the Liza/Gest thread here - reading about celebs and their lives, which makes mine seem perfect by comparison! It's not nice, I know, but it's fun.

LOL. That is one of mine as well. I wondered what were those strange cartons were my children were watching, so I had a look, just to be disapproving you understand, and ended up watching them! Dexter's Secret Lab, The Power Puff girls , Sponge Bob Square Pants, to name a few :)

Spongebob Squarepants rocks! I have DVDs of all of the seasons which are out so far!
I loved Looney Tunes as a kid, and continued watching them as an adult, seeing a lot of nice, adult-type humor in the cartoons that I didn't see as a kid. I look at Spongebob cartoons the same way.

I have Tremors on video tape, my children love it as well, although the younger one is a little bit scared! Great film.
"You broke into the wrong gosh darn reck room Didn't ya ya big jerk!!!!"
Hmmm.... I wonder if Reba McEntire is available to discuss the film over a coffee?
To: Theresawithanh
I loved all the loony tune stuff! Don't have much on DVD but just got the children a "Fairly Odd Parents" DVD for Christmas.
I also like the more "grown up" cartoons like Futurama. I understand they are going to make a new series.

LOL! I like Futurama, too, though I haven't watched it in awhile.
Did you ever see Drawn Together? I don't know if it's still on, as I haven't watched it in awhile, either, but it's deliciously, evilly funny.
