Steven Hawking established his theory about Black holes saying that they are the force that holds Galaxies together and gives them their characteristic rotation.

He also believes that matter, aka. 'information' is lost as it crosses the Event Horizon and is consumed by the Black Hole.

New findings show that the New Universal Model is comprised of 3 general components; Atoms, Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Which in combination, are causing the Universe to accelerate, contrary to Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Which in itself, points to the general law of Physics that the Universe should be gradually slowing down.

Hawking recently changed his hypothesis to add that Information is not lost in Black Holes. (The Information Paradox) Due to opposition by many in his guild that points to this Paradox.

This may then relate to the idea that matter, (Information) merely travels into another dimension. They may also alternate back and forth between dimension's in the form of Neutrinos. Also mentioned as a certain aspect of string theory.

Einstein suspected that Quantum Theory existed and it bothered him greatly, which is why he spent his last days on Earth, trying to solve the problem, through his Theory of Everything.

There will always be debate, lacking concrete evidence no matter how strong the argument.
