My dad took thousands (yes, thousands) of slides dating back to the 1950s to Costco and they converted them to digital images on DVDs. When you put one of these DVDs into a DVD player, it plays like a slide show. Pretty cool.

Mine is a Panasonic, and you don't subscribe to it like Tivo. Tivo records from tv to a hard drive, but the DVD writer tapes from tv to a writeable DVD. They even have re-writeable DVD's if you tape a series of show to watch but you don't want to necessarily keep.

It's really just the new VCR, but it has a built in VCR becuase it makes it more marketable (since a lot of people have VCR tapes they would like to convert to DVD).

If you want one, do a little research on the + or - factor, becuase some machines will record the DVD, but if you want to play the DVD in a different player it has to be recorded in + or - format.

I don't know the number of Muslims killed, but Jack Bauer has killed 112 people over the five years of the show. In Season 4, he got rid of 44 'hostiles', his best ever. In the first season he only killed 10.

Funny... the season six prequel I saw (just a short clip of ten minutes or so) showed Jack Bauer "Seven months later..." and he was still stuck in China being tortured by those grim-faced Chinese clutching their signature AK47s. Oh, well.

I thought this season would start with more of Jack's capitivity in China. I was surprised it didn't.

I wonder whether they did allot of rewriting during the off-season?
