Oh dear... Sorry about your mom’s troubles. Sounds like a very hard time. Is she going to remain home, just with help, or is there some other plan coming together?
I was beginning to wonder where you were... Will be thinking about you and you and your mom will be in my prayers.
She's gotten really weak just laying in the hospital, but she's gotten better, so we hope to get her into re-hab in the next day or so. She'll stay there for 3 weeks or so and then if she's able, we hope to convince her to go into an assisted living facility. If not, I'll have to hire round-the-clock sitters for her, and at $7500 a month, that's just not feasible for more than a year or two. She's not wanting to hear about any of this, and neither would I if I were in her shoes, but her doctor has called Social Services and they're going to make SURE she does SOMETHING.
I really don't want her to have to go into a nursing home, but that's what would have to happen if we use up all her money on sitters, so I really hope that she starts to listen to reason about the assisted living. I've looked at one that would be close to where I work and it was nice, but it looked more like living in a big hotel room so I'm going to look at some others that may be more home-like. So just keep us in your prayers that we find a solution that we can all live with.
