I called 2J, she didn’t answer:\
Becky
Yikes... OK - thanks for the updates, on both the bomb and the water in town.
LOL...you trying to get me and that woman going again over there:)
She was really irritating me dropping all those what I guess were big names in the sport. And then Mack pointed out that the FEI had already disqualified her...that went right over my head till he pointed it out. She kept saying to wait till they decided...heck they already had. I don’t get it now what she was waiting on.
I was going to ping her on my ping, but didn’t want to be obviously antagonistic:) Glad you did.
Becky
I’m not sure that disqualification was a disciplinary action though, was it? (I’ll go look again)... I think that would have happened just because the horse was lame and couldn’t continue.
My brother just called.
Story he is hearing:
Somebody, walking out in the parking garage, found a coffee cup with some liquid in it, and nuts and bolts. He picked it up and it blew. So then there was shrapnel flying around. Blew his hand off, and he got hit in the head with 2 pieces of the shrapnel. He died at the hospital. At this time it is believed he was the target, that it was not a random bombing.
This is the story making the rounds among the employees anyway.
Becky
From the wording in the article, it sounds like it was disciplinary. That’s the way I read it.
Becky
Sheesh!
Wouldn’t it have just been called a scratch if she couldn’t continue due to lameness?
Becky
I’m not so sure on that from that article. She’d have been pulled or scratched regardless, because she obviously didn’t finish sound... but maybe they wouldn’t have used the word disqualified. May be... might be the reporter that chose the word.
We cross posted :~)
I must have missed that, what happened?
Tryon Under FEI Investigation Following Rolex Kentucky
If the video won't work, basically what happened is that the horse took a bad several steps several strides before the last jump in the X-Country... took the last jump and finished very lame, jumped down as soon as she crossed the finish to look. The debate is whether she was callously negligent in not knowing, or not deciding to pull the horse up sooner, before the last jump.
Sad. I hate to hear about horses getting injured like that.
Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event Rules
Unfortunately, among the grounds they list for "elimination", lameness isn't listed.
I’m in town, and just took a drive past your house. You look fine. I didn’t know if your side of the river ever had problems with flooding.
Scotts is closed for the day, and the streets are barricaded down town because of street flooding. I’ve got pictures. I’d say in a few hours Snake Creek, the big one you cross coming to my house will be out of it’s banks, we’ll have to go the long way home. Heck the little creed below my house my be out, if that’s the case will be stuck in town. The old boat in this creek is not visible. I don’t know if it’s under water, or has been swept on down the creek.
Becky
It’s raining again. Did you see the radar? Looks like we’re really going to get hard again.
Becky
Wow.... really.... do take pictures!
Yeah, I was gonna sit out in the tent and see where it leaks...
I thought better of it.
LOL...I don’t think a tent is the place to be either:)
