The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

We are up in the NW corner of the state, near Atlanta. Fires are down near Waycross, in the east-central part of South Georgia right down near the Florida line. It's all swamp and pine timber down there, and once it gets started burning it's very difficult to put it out. Firemen from all over the state are down there, last I heard it was about 50 percent contained.

My parents live about 75 miles east of there, on the coast. They are probably getting some smoke since the prevailing wind is west-to-east, but that's about it.

You know to check Animal Control and the local vets, I'm sure.

Hope she turns up. I do wonder if Cindy doesn't lead them astray and then run off snickerings . . .

Dreary and overcast today. Today is my day to spend the morning with Tucker, I will be at Jenny’s shortly. Celia and I are going to ride this afternoon, if the weather improves.

After those two posts of mine she came back and said:

Becky you are wrong. (and something like), you don’t understand anything about pulling a bracing. then some blah, blah, blah, and something like, since you don’t know you shouldn’t be pulling a horse around at all.

I came back and said,

YOu know, a lot of restraint has been shown towards your rudeness...WB’s gracious thank you for you totally Non-aplogoy...I don’t care if I get banned for this but I’m done with restraint...Your a rude, obnoxious, thinks you know it all idiot. And yes, I have lost my sense of humor, there is nothing funny about you...good bye.

I have not clue what was removed from his last post. I wish the mods would leave that stuff,but just come on and tell us specifically what is unacceptable.

Blech... that person got under my skin. It’s just not fun to debater her... she twists everything until you’re arguing about her twisted version of it... she’s a great straw man builder. Or is that a red herring... I can never keep those two straight.

It's burned about 20,000 acres, which is bad, but the whole state is certainly not on fire!

I don’t think any of mine from the really long thread got edited. I browsed through and didn’t notice any.

But my post to lester on the second “leading thread” I got edited, but in a really funny way. You know my only response to her, where I said “Thanks for the input!” with my ‘bite me’ pony picture? They edited the text and left the bite me picture.

Doesn’t it just chap the hide off you? I’m dying to go to Bixhoma and fish and I’m too scared to do it for fear a tornado would land on me and I’d end up in Kansas, or Great God Forbid...ARKANSAS!

Were they predicting tornados today...I just don’t really pay attention to the local weathermen. I mostly look at the radar loop and get the forecast off the internet.

You know I’ve lived in OK, for as long as I can remember, and I have never seen a tornado, they’ve been close, but I just really don’t fear them. I’d have more fear living by Hair’s volcano:)
