The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 11

Posted on 01/02/2007 9:57:39 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Not to change the subject but do you ever watch a tv show called “What Not to Wear?” I’m hooked on it.

No. I haven’t seen it. What’s it about?

It’s on the Learning Channel. 2 hosts take “out of style” people and show them what to wear. they also have a professional hairstylist cut and color their hair and another professional make up artist do their make up. It’s so much fun to watch.

Who couldn’t.

I stopped wearing “mom jeans” on account of that show.

I watch it all the time and I'm hooked on it too. I've actually taken some of the advice that they give, because I'm so short.

You will do fine:’) As for as my inspection...nothing that 130 dollars can’t fix. The state wants a fire inspection. The fire marshal won’t do it without a certificate of occupancy. The state is ok with me being covered under the landlord’s. The city wants us separate. So Monday, I’m getting occupied and the fire marshal will visit Tue. The state has approved everything else.

That’s bad? Isn’t that where waist bands are supposed to be? I hate low riding pants.

they don’t like really low riders either, they like jeans that sit just below the waist.

Holy cow, I’m glad your mother is ok!

She's not only okay, she wants me to smuggle in some White Castles because she's tired of the liquid diet. They will be talking about rehab for her on Monday.

She may have also gotten over her stubborn streak. She could hear what was going on in the ER cubicle next to her, where they brought in a woman her age who fell down the steps two days ago, and finally decided to go to the ER. My mom only had to plop down on soft, wet grass, although it was no fun laying in the rain for two hours.

Hey glad you all weathered the storm, I didn’t even know there was anything going on. We didn’t get anything but rain and cold temps, still going on today.

Good morning.

Good morning to you too:)

We have a nice evening planned for tonight. My riding friend Celia has a new fellow:), and they are coming down town tonight to play cards, and whatever else we decide to do.

Our weather is suppose to be nasty till tonight then it starts to clear out, and be back in the 70’s by Mon....crazy weather. My farrier called yesterday, and rescheduled for Mon.

Good morning :~)

Hope you’ll be easy on the new fella :~)

We’re going up to the beach house today. Supposed to rain here for the next several days.

Got an estimate to fix the trailer and left it there... $120. We haven’t given it to the store owner yet, he wasn’t there.

Well, Celia hasn’t been all that great about picking decent men.

So far, she’s been seeing him for about 3 weeks, he sounds pretty decent, and funnily enough he has a lot of the same interests as Mack, motorcycles, drums, music, and NOT horses:). So they maybe will hit it off pretty good. He also collects toy trains...that’s how Celia met him. They had a toy train show at the Community Center where she works, and a mutual friend of theirs introduced them. I hope she at least finds a good friend to have some companionship with, I think she’s been lonely for awhile.

$120 doesn’t sound that bad, he better count his blessings. I’d take it to several places and find the one that is the most expensive, have him pay that then fix the thing myself as best I could.

Did you leave it to be fixed, or are you waiting to see if he coughs up the money?

Becky
