Kind of warm here today. I got my van cleaned out and the front mowed. Working on the back. I got hot and came in to cool off. Summers coming. The ant and mosquitoes are back.

Hello all, I have not been here in forever. We have had rain down here and much to do. Also I've helped start a new writer's thread. It's called Righter's Club. Here are some pics from my last trail ride with my group, it was my turn to be hostess and all went well.

One of the women brought the linen for our barbecue dinner. I loved it.

Top picture; that's me on the far left.

A couple more pics

and I thought you all would like this one; it's from a book entitled 'Unsuitable For Ladies'

Oh I forgot the horse is my horse Buck, he looks pretty rough in his winter hair. That's a Wade Corriente saddle on him, I really like it.

Looks like fun. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful horses.

Well this afternoon I'm down to ten horses here on the place. Friday and Sam went to the breeder friend and while we were talking, they decided to take BamBam too. So we came home and Bob and my niece took BamBam back to them. They were all talking and Bob has decided to send Tuffy to the trainer our friend uses - if he does well, she will campaign him on the ApHC circuit. If not, he'll come home of course. We'll see on that, depends on what kind of money it is going to cost.

Yes it is - I still need to sell some more here, especially if I want to get retired soon.

I still think you ought to "rent" Bob out. A horse "honey do" guy.

Hi everyone. Hope you all are having a good weekend! Rode today, and god am I sore! It's my fault really, I was having trouble with my knee riding up at the sitting trot, (read: out of shape) and felt like I was riding like a jockey so I got frustrated and got rid of my stirrups so that I could stretch my leg down and sit deeper into the saddle. Did a lot of sitting trot. It felt good at the time, but not right now! Uuuugh... I realized that I was in for it when I was driving home and my leg started shaking when I stepped on the brake. Already took a hot shower and I'm going to load up on advil and lay down.

I'm kind of sore too. Had quiet a workout yesterday, then today I did a lot of mowing and yard work. I've had the hot shower. I guess I need to dig out the Motrin.

Good Morning.
Sunny here, yay!
The banquet was nice, good food, but I didn't win anything in the Chinese, live or silent auction.. :( Alison won 1st in English Showmanship and 5th in Western Showmanship, Walk-Trot division 11 & under. They gave her a vest and a nice wooden framed picture of herself and Andy.
To: MissTargets
Yea Alison. What is a Chinese auction? I like the silent auctions and I usually win. My husband sees to it. I will stop at a certain point but he tends to go back and keep bidding if he sees my name. It's sweet but he will pay a lot more for something than I will because knows I want it. Once there was a flag bag that I wanted, filled with a lot of fireworks. A mom was bidding for her kids who really wanted the fire crackers. She quit before I did. He won it and gave me the bag and took the firecrackers to the kids.

What is a Chinese auction? You purchase tickets and put them in a bag by the item you want. Then they draw the winning tickets out of the bag. Raffle of sorts. Luck of the draw. There were some really nice items, DVD player, horse clippers and all kinds of cool horse items. The silent auction had free cat or dogs spay or neuters, feed from Tractor Supply, riding lessons, training etc. Alison won a large feed bowl with all kinds of art supplies, pencils, crayons and crafty stuff.

I'd call that
overwhelming evidence of beavers . . .
Cute pictures!

Beautiful spring day. Sunny and warm. Bodie was lunged and I tried my new saddle on finally. Lunged again, then I got on. There was not anywhere to go, just too muddy, except around the little area we lunge. He was fine, but didn't care for the Tom Thumb bit. I will have to go back to the D ring snaffle. He still does not neck rein. After that, it was learn to stand tied at the trailer. Very impatient about being tied, so he will have a lesson everyday.
Gosh, it sure felt good to be outside! Alison is going to ride PJ now, so I will go watch her.,
