We also get low carb bread because Bob loves his bread. That helps too. And once a week generally we have a pizza or spagetti or something like that.
That would be a great idea :) If she would go for a walk with you and carry the saddle bags even to get the idea.
Yeh - that would do it because then you're really hungry. Another thing we do is eat or snack every couple of hours, that seems to help cravings and also keep us eating smaller portions.
Sounds healthy. I've been buying those Walmart individual trail mixes. They have a lot of calories but I figure since they have nuts and dried fruit they are healthier than a candy bar. They also have little choc chips in them:')
Lot's of good tips here tonight. Maybe there is still hope:')
Hey, you'll do it. And THINK thin :)
You hear Hair? We can do this.
:) I'll bet you five bucks you can.
Thundering and a lightening storm again. I'll know if the water goes back up though because my husband's building is 2 blocks down and they will call him. That dodge came in handy today. He played taxi for stranded nurses this afternoon.
What a nice hubby. Bob's surgery was canceled today because they didn't like his EKG but also today, he passed part of a kidney stone so I think it was a miracle :) and am hoping he doesn't have to have the surgery period.
Poor guy. That's a long time to suffer with one of those. Hopefully the rest will break up and pass on out.
You have a good night, I'm heading to bed. Work tomorrow and until I can figure out how to retire :)
I'm gonna be up awhile longer. We are under another flash flood warning. We got 4.72 inches today. Some people were saying nine but I think they were measuring under their cars. Night.
Holy Shamoly! You guys were TALKATIVE yesterday! No wonder nobody is online yet this morning .. you're all EXHAUSTED! hehehehe

See, I DO come and read and look at the pics, even if I don't post everyday.. lol

I do have a question about my filly. And here's the sticky wicket .. I would post on horse.com, but I don't want regal (the guy who gave me the horses) to get concerned.

Anyway, these horses came from OHIO to Texas 2 weeks ago. We have lots of bugs down here .. lol. Bliss, the filly, had TONS of winter coat which she is blowing like crazy.

I noticed the other day where it looked like she had rubbed her face on the fence or a tree or something where she had a bug bite and irritated her skin. Well, in the past couple of days, she has rubbed her little face raw.

She's taking all the hair off and the skin is broken out and irritated. I feel so sorry for her.

Now, we use fly spray, on a washcloth and put on her face and ears and all. Last nite we bought some SWAT (hubby insisted on the PINK variety .. aarrrrrgh), so I'll be putting SWAT on her face today.

They are also due to be wormed with ivermictin on the 15th .. I bought them last nite and will give them tonite.

My question is this. We were looking at those little fly hoods. The foal size (and shes an ARAB filly with a little head) only had one hole that both ears go in. I didn't buy it because I could just see her rubbing that right off her head ..

Do any of ya'll have experience with those fly hoods .. or can you suggest anything else I can do for her. Her little face looks miserable. (No pics on horse.com for a while .. LOL)

Back when I was a young whipper snapper I was trying to teach a big old gelding turns on the forehand. He completely misunderstood me and jumped the ring fence from a standstill. I just rolled off over his tail. He turned around and nudged me with his nose - "Oh, that wasn't what you wanted me to do?"
I found a type of whole wheat pasta that was lower in carbs. One serving is 2 oz, and I split one serving between Mack and I several times a week. And it is really quite a bit. We always have some type of carb with each meal. We have breakfast burritos for breakfast on low carb tortillas.

Almonds are a really good snack, crunchy/salty/sweet, I eat the honey roasted ones, they have no more carbs/cal then the natural ones. And for a sweet snack you can buy different varieties of a snack bar made by Kraft under the name of South Beach. They have 100 calories, and 15 carbs, and they have a variety that is Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter...uuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm...:) Knowing I'm going to get that each evening is a good motivator also:) I love my chocolate too:)

LOL...and Cindy you know NOT eating is not good. Doing that really really slows you metabolism, and is very counter productive. For someone who works Kraft, again under the name of South Beach makes a very good boxed lunch kit. 5 varieties. I get them at Wal mart where they sell the lunch meat. Inside are sandwich wraps. You get 2 wraps, and a serving of sugar free Jello. They are between 230-300 calories each. They are very good, and very satisfying. You might look at trying them. I don't eat them everyday, just when I'm in town at lunch time. We keep them down there in the fridge. Mack eats them often. Everything is premeasured, makes it easy.

I pretty much eat 5 times a day, 3 meals, and 2 snacks.

Boy, I don't know what to tell you to get her to stop scratching...maybe some type of anti-itch lotion. Benedryl...I know you can use people stuff on horses, won't hurt, I just know most of that stuff doesn't work on me.

Hard enough to keep the flies/bugs from biting them, I have never had to get one to stop scratching.

What type of fly spray do you use?

Rusty came back and was nudging me like that the one time he dumped me....I was on my hands and knees gasping...not even worrying about him...when I felt him nudge my head, is all could say was "You are so lucky I can't get up:)"
