This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

He's got pretty dimples:)

Bay looks good, the Pony as silly as ever. She just keeps you smiling.
He has..issues but his character starts to grow though:')
I saw a Holstein bull at a fair once that they said was a record size bull. He was seven feet or so at the shoulder, he looked like a giant, completely out of scale.
WEll ladies I'm calling it a night.

I'm starting a new project tomorrow, back to painting:)....tomorrow the kitchen.

And I'm trying red again:)...But it will only be a small amount this time. Barn red and tan.

And, I'm riding tomorrow...so see you in the AM.

Becky
You can have them, and the smug face they sit on. :~P
See ya in the morning :~)
She looks like an Italian screne star. Cyn is really pretty.
Bob and I lost a lot of weight just by cutting out sugar most of the time and carbs like bread, potatoes and pasta.
That she does :~)
That's my problem. I'm not a group person so I'd never lose weight if I had to go to meetings. I'd make a pretty good hermit.
I'm glad to hear that, flash flooding is really frightening.
Wow. Holsteins are big but I can't imagine something 7ft tall.
Have fun with the painting, I'll look forward to the pictures. Have a good night.
That's reason enough to keep her around don't you think :)
It's what's gotten her this far! :~)
It was funny how mad she got that I was riding... she'll come barreling up behind us. If Bay wasn't pretty good about ignoring her antics, she'd be a hazard.
It sure seems like she needs a job. I wish you could teach her to pony and let her carry something. Maybe try talking to her and explain it.
I'm trying not to be drastic this time and gradually cut back. I was doing ok. Then I took a week off without weighing and gained 5 pounds. I'm back on track now but only because I got sick. I didn't start gaining weight until after I got married but I think I've been messed up since I was little. I remember going around to collect coke bottles all weekend to buy a bag of choc cooking chips and a soda every day with my cash . That just wasn't normal. I try to manage it now but the carbohydrate cravings are still there. When I go really low on carbos I actually get physically ill. My doctor told me he had never seen anyone so addicted to carbs as me.
She could certainly carry some stuff... Maybe we should take her up for walks in the woods with us, without the other horses.
