I'll have to try to get you a picture of a horse at our barn. He is 17 hands (at least) A gentle giant. I'm 5'2" and have to tip toe to reach his back.

How'd the work out go.

Yeah, I didn't want to waste today, wind or no wind. Rain is suppose to move in tonight and tomorrow, then chilly on Sun. But next week is look pretty good, not as warm as this week but warm enough to ride.

We use to have a big 16:2 QH gelding that my son roped off of. He was still living at home then, and would call me occasionally when he was on his way home from work and ask me to have his horse saddled so he could get to a roping on time.....Oh my soul....you ever try to throw a roping saddle up on that tall of a horse:(....heck just picking the darn thing up was a challenge:)

Well, we wimped out... first of all, the stalls were a lot more work than we thought they were gonna be, plus the sun keeps going away for chill wind or hail or rain... it just didn't stay nice long enough.

Yeah, on me, I've found 3 this evening, and I had 2 the other day after I rode.

I thought cold and ice killed the little beggars.

Maybe what you need is wet, not cold, cuz we don't have them ~much~ here. Did see some on a squirrel last summer, but never have seen one on the dogs here. or us.

Pulled one off Zulu once after a camping trip... that's it.

We have had problems with tics all winter. No matter what we try Cindy gets them. We just spent a lot on medicine that the vet guarentees. I'm getting an Easter chicken. My husband thinks I'm joking but I'm not.

Chickens is the best form of tick control I've found. My dogs don't have ticks, until they start going with me on rides.

Are you getting hit by high winds today? That gunslinger from OK on the horse forum said the wind was ripping panels off his barn.

Yes, we were getting some very high wind, I think it may be slowing down now. I was in town earlier, and worrying about my barn and the shop. I think I heard gusts up to 45 mph. Everything here is fine here, but on the way home I could feel the wind blowing my truck around.

We got alot of rain thru the night. I think once we get thru tomorrow tho, we will be back to nice weather.
