The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Well, we haven't listened to it yet... he's just found them and will download them when he can realign the satellite or open up a socket or something. ;~)

I hope you have a nice ride. The weather here is now "changeable"... ie... changing all the time, sun, wind, rain, sun with wind, wind with rain, sun with rain turning to showers, showers turning to sunny...

Not sure what to do with the horse blankets. I'd take them off... but then they'll just get soaked.

They're hanging out in the barn at the moment.

You don't really think they are going to let her die do you? Heck the show is named after her, she narrates it...But they are cutting it close, and it looks like it's going to be a bit out on the limb if she comes back too...

I sure hope not! The show will not be the same without her. My fear is they will be cancelling the show!

They aren't going to be canceling it. I think it's one of the more popular shows on now.

It's funny, she isn't one of my favorite characters:). I don't want her to die, but I think the show could make it without her. I like the red head, I can't every remember her name, and I like Sandra Oh, and Callie...the men I like Karev, and Burke. Patrick Dempsey,,,not real crazy about him. George is getting to be a bit of a drag, and Izzy, she's just nuts...scary person. I like the chief OK.

Addison Montgomery (Sheppard). I think the whole cast makes the show. THere are some shows I don't think Meredith has shined, but in some I had thought she did terrific. You are right though, George is becomming a drag and I see him and Callie getting disolving that marriage.

Good morning everyone. Still no foal, no word yet on my sister's surgery either, so work as usual. Friday will probably foal this afternoon when no one is home (Bob has a couple of doctors appts.)

Hey Frog, When I got up this morning and checked on the horses I caught them playing with an old tree that had died last summer. Gary was going to burn it but never got around to it so Jake and Blade were tossing it around this morning. They have also enjoyed taking the garden hose that is down there off the post and pulling it across the pasture.

Yeah, Blade used to try to pull the hose through the fence here too, but usually only when I'd forgot and let the water trough get dry. He and Bob used to get into stuff all the time. I've got a chunk bit out of the rear hatch gasket on my jeep courtsey of Blade. But then Bob took another one out not too long ago, so it's not just him. Bored horses will FIND something to get into. They got in and trashed my feed room again this past weekend when I forgot to latch the door. It looked like a bomb went off in there. Everything in there was turned over and either stomped on or $hit on. Some days you just wanna kill 'em, but then it was my fault for forgetting to latch it. It's just like leaving a burning candle too close to curtains. Something's just GONNA happen if you do that. Here's a pic I took a couple of years ago of Bob and Blade tearing up a cardboard box I had in the back of the jeep. I didn't really INTEND for them to have it, but they found the Jeep open and it was just too good to resist...

Well, we're back. Made it about 1 hour 15 minutes....I think all three of us had had enough, me Harley and Grizzly:) We are so out of shape. But it was absolutely glorious...the minute my butt hit the saddle, I thought, gosh, this feels so good:)

We'll go again tomorrow, then have a break and then try again for Fri and Sat.:)

Yeah, I know exactly whatcha mean. It IS awfully nice when you get back to it after having been off for a while, especially on a nice clear cool day. You just sit there and think "It just don't get no better'n this!"

I don't think she is down on Callie, I think she just thinks they married because of George's Dad dying. Which I have to agree, it was pretty fast tracked.

If the water trough gets to low they tip it over, Blade is always standing in the trough. Even when it was freezing out side he was playing in the water. I was thinking about getting him one of those balls to play with, but heck, he enjoys the hose so much why spend the money!

Well, I didn't post anything about it - in shock I think. She has a tumor on her brain and due to the location, they can't use radiation so it will be surgery as soon as possible. Hopefully, it's benign - apparently most of this type are.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that! I'll keep her in my prayers. Be sure to let us know when she's scheduled for surgery and we can pray extra hard that day. At least you got some good news in that the type of tumor is usually benign.
