The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

How about you? The news showed some pretty bad weather in your area also.

We have not seen this much in snow in years.

If you get a chance, take a measure tape and measure from the coronary band to the tip of the toe, right in the front. It could be the angle of the picture, but it looks to me, like his left is longer than the right.

One of my old farriers used to measure, but these newer ones don't seem to take the time.

I made it fine here. Most of the bad storms went south of here. BladeRider said it got pretty bad down her way yesterday though. I actually saw lightening yesterday morning before daylight and again last night. That doesn't happen in February very often!

Okay, so I get a list of names of people who are interested, or who respond to the Vanity post, and then type them into a Word document, each name separated by ;;;; (semi-colon four times)

And then I just paste that onto what?

Oh - Just one semicolon between them, so you can copy paste them like I've done above in the to line.

What's wrong with his feet? They look okay but maybe it's just the pics.

They could be uneven because he lost some hoof wall on one side when he pulled the shoe off. This weekend when it's warmer I'll measure and getting better pictures.

I'm having trouble keeping shoes on him. He keeps pulling them somehow shortly after being shod.

I'm going to try a new farrier next month when he is due again.

Sorry your weather is so bad. We had a cold front blow in here today. We went from the sunny 70's to the 40's in just a few hours. At least it's dry . I didn't get my letters up over my building though. She said the silicon doesn't bond well when it's cold. I got rescheduled til Friday.

On mare watch now :) Friday has waxed up. Although I expected her to go another week at least, I'm getting up all night long to check the camera and she's locked in at night. She gave Bob a moment today when she laid down (she is not one to lay down at all).

Sun is shining, it stopped snowing, but very cold. Only 1 degree! Good news is, by Monday temps will be in the 20's.

Duchess, the baby should come within a few days now, right?
