Gran, this is the music of your dancing water display in front of the hotel in Las Vegas

Andrea Bocelli with Sarah Brightman sing Bocelli's Con Te Partiro.

Time to Say Goodbye

... and here is a daylight display of the fountains with the same duet

Okers, so I look more like that bad guy 'xanatos' from Gargoyles.

Xanatos looks like you?

Thank for sharing Cardy "Dubai Another World"

Does this not remind you of any of the great and spacious building

And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the other side of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth.

And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building.

And it came to pass that I saw and bear record, that the great and spacious building was the pride of the world; and it fell, and the fall thereof was exceedingly great.

And it came to pass that king Noah built many elegant and spacious buildings; and he ornamented them with fine work of wood, and of all manner of precious things, of gold, and of silver, and of iron, and of brass, and of ziff, and of copper;

for he did have many wives and concubines, and did lay that upon men’s shoulders which was grievous to be borne; yea, he did tax them with heavy taxes; and with the taxes he did build many spacious buildings.

In this case it is not taxes upon the Emirate´s population but investment for the benefit of all of them.

Not palaces in the desert but turning that tiny county into a modern center of commerce.

Great slide show! Wouldn't load this morning, finally did.

I'm surprised at how it looked just a dozen years ago and love that 7-star hotel with all it impeccable accouterments!

I'll pass on the roof tennis, though, definitely.

The weird thing with those "palms", not one boat did I see!

I messed up the link this morning put my next post put it right

That is true I never saw a single boat and the houses on the palms did not have any docks.

Everything is under construction so maybe the new owners will have to supply their own docks. and of course there will be a huge Marina.

Have you been to Dubai?

Your photos made me google for more info this evening.

Ten or so years ago, a friend moved there and we continued to email each other for a while before losing track.

Back then, Dubai City seemed a thriving metropolis. I remember the big Bizarre drew people from all over.

Sharky, are you an engineer?

Not to be picky, but isn't that two pancakes on its head?

"Not to be picky, but..."     ????

You have problems with air bananas, too, I suppose.
