I'm here!
Actually, I'm not.
I'm stuck in Chicago, but I am here.
(((Face)))
(The car cover I bought two weeks ago as a theft deterrent was stolen last night...now I'm afraid to even park in front of my apartment...)
Dang! I will be praying for you to get out of there. It does not sound at all safe. What did the police say?
OMG!
I don't know which is worse.....that you had to buy a cover car, or that it was stolen.
You poor thing!
Are you moving soon?
I drink their coffee in airports.
LOL!
No one can tell that I'm tired!
Car cover, got it.
Still, I hope you move soon.
I'm with Bob.
I don't even drink their coffee in airports.
:-)
I can live without food. I can live without sleep. I can not live without coffee.
Well ... you could probably live without coffee -- but why would you?
I didn't call the police. They came out once before (two weeks ago) and thought it was a big joke that an old lady called them for a break-in on a 23 year-old truck.
But I have a year and a day to file a police report, so when I go to get one, I'll just pick up a handful. Looks like I'll need them...
My daughter bought me an "Autolock" which goes on the brake or clutch pedal, and it has a $5000 guarantee, but still, I parked my car at a friend's house for tonight. My son-in-law is going to find me a car alarm, but his schedule is so packed that I need to find if someone else can install it for not a lot of money.
As for the move...it's anybody's guess. I'm hoping February 2nd will see me and my little truck with a load of stuff on it headed southeast...
It's not going to work, 'Face.
When they see your truck is gone, they'll think you're not at home, and they'll steal your apartment.
Yah...I thought of that, too...one of my neighbors put up a trellis today on the patio fence, to cover the space. It's up there pretty tight, so I'll hear if someone tries to come in that way.
And of course, there is my front door...my bed is 4' from it, but I'm thinking of putting a chair under the knob. I tell ya, I'm getting neurotic about staying here...
My point exactly. Family lore states that when I was a young'un of two I used to climb up on the table and drink any coffee that was left over.
My Mom used to claim it would stunt my growth. She was right. I am the shortest person in my family, immediate and extended. It was worth it! :)
I would put that chair under the knob. Being careful is not the same as being neurotic.
LOL!
I started drinking coffee "for real" when I was 12, but it was too late, even then...I started school that fall at 5'3" and when school let out in the spring, I was 5'8". And I had coffee almost every morning that year! And I grew two more inches before I was done!
Our snow stopped. Pout.
The boss just called, he said the roads are awful and the hills are problematic. We'll try to get in tomorrow, but I'm not going to hurt myself. If I make it, I make it.
The Screaming Yellow Zonker has front wheel drive, so I should be okay if I take the route with no hills.
I can live without coffee.
But then...that depends on one's definition of "live".
Ha ha ha! Hi, 'Face.
With so many "real" crimes in Las Vegas, coming here for a break-in just seemed to happen at a lull in the crime for that night. (Two weeks ago.)
This must have happened around 11:00 last night. Normally my neighbor would park beside me, and he would cover his car as well. He has an alarm in his. We both figured if they can't see what's inside, maybe they won't be tempted. HAH!
He would park very close and run a bunji cord between the vehicles so that if someone messed with my vehicle, the vibration would set off his alarm. Well, last night, he didn't come home until 2:00 AM...someone has been watching...
Feb. 2nd?
I hope so.
The definition for that would be, "Survive during torture."
