Remote detection satellites are used by the intelligence branch of the military to conduct mind control exercises in the theater of war. All this technology is dependent upon the higher branches of particle physics and quantum mechanics. The array of satellites safe in deep space cover the entire earth making the mind control intelligence program widely successful. Be amazed as you view this military program break out of the box. Go to the following web site that shows a real-time mind control zombie being manipulated by satellite and the military. www.MindControlUSA.com

guilt makes it thrilling

Maybe. Or maybe rather than guilt, it's fear: fear of punishment for having done something wrong/illegal, as well as fear of death or injury.

To me, guilt would just make you miserable after the fact, when you could be experiencing the rush of having escaped physical harm and legal punishment.

Well, the scenario I'm talking about would be a vicious cycle - guilt feeds evil act, individual feels guilty about it afterward, which in turn drives him to do it again.

I guess the kinda thing I am talking about occurs with some addictions, the psychological aspect rather than the physical.

I'm not experienced with addictions, but I can kind of see it. For example, if a person is on a diet, and goes out and eats a huge Mexican meal, she can decide that she might as well have dessert, wine, and a midnight snack, since she's already "blown it"!

Yes, something like that. Or an alcoholic who wakes up with one of those remorseful hangovers - goes out and drinks some more to drown out the remorse.

I'm working on a new category ... sin without guilt.

Novel?

You made a funny, Irish!

That's exactly what it was, part of the idea for a novel.

I see your point, which is kind of what I was going for with my diet example ... you feel terrible anyway, so you might as well go on doing whatever made you feel terrible (or something else bad :-).

It's not rational, but it's the way people work, sometimes.

sin without guilt

We have too much of that ... also guilt without sin. What we need is to correlate guilt with genuine wrongdoing!

Yeah, that's a part of it, kinda "I'm screwed now anyway, so to hell with it!"

I think what I'm talking about is largely that, too - misplaced guilt.

Okay, I'll define sin without guilt as conscienceless behavior.

But guilt without sin is a learned or imposed problem, like young girls given a negative body image, and ruining their health with poor eating habits.

Actually, I was speaking casually, attempting to isolate situations where what we think is utterly wrong (sinful!) can be perceived as a natural reaction to circumstance.

An instance is Shaw's "Caesar and Cleopatra" where a "Barbarian from the North" is shocked to learn that Cleopatra is expected to marry her brother, or something like that.

That's a good point. Our sources for discerning right and wrong are various. A person is not going to feel guilt over something that he has no idea is wrong.

This indicates that there has to be a source of moral knowledge that transcends culture.

"... there has to be a source of moral knowledge that transcends culture ..."

I think there is, but it is hard to pin down.

I'm looking forward to the time in Human history that we, like the Vulcans, abjure emotionality in this process, and find a logical way to agree about what behavior is beneficial to both the species and the individual.
