Not all there kids are LDS.....

True, and I mentioned this in one of my replies to aft_lizard.

plus BYU may not win a conference but I think they are better at least this year then all the middle teams of the other conferences....and that is why they were ranked

It would depend on the conference I suppose. I would say the Pac-10 and the Big XII North are probably where they would be the most successful. I don't think their style of offense would be able to get through the Big 10. Maybe the ACC, too, if Miami and Florida State have down years like they had this year. They'd get molested in the SEC.

I don't think the Florida team took Nebraska lightly - they were just flat-out outgunned in every aspect of the game. Nebraska had totally blown away everyone they'd faced in the regular season, and a lot of media people and Florida fans were attributing that to a weak schedule. There was some merit to that argument, but it was moot - I can't remember another season where one college team was so clearly on a completely different level than everyone else in Division One.

Another thing about the media - they had their panties all in a twist about Lawrence Phillips, and a lot of them were rooting against Nebraska because of him. The media, the same crew that eggs Terrell Owens on so they can cop easy headlines, and then acts all "outraged" about what he does to get those headlines. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

To be fair, I think any team that went up against that Nebraska squad in that game would have been slaughtered like the Gators were. It was just Florida's bad luck to be the one to face the buzzsaw.

well, they did run off 3 minutes after that fourth down conversion....they could have kicked the FG back then.

if Michigan doesnt light a fire, its going to be ugly.

How many 4th quarter personal fouls does Michigan need to commit before they learn?

Lloyd Carr has to be one of the worst coaches in football when it comes to preparing for big games. It isn't their night because they weren't ready to play, and the play calling is atrocious.

USC giving a very impressive performance so far against Michigan. What started out as a very bad bowl season for the Pac-10 has been redeemed by extremely impressive performances by Cal and USC, and an inspired comeback by Oregon St.

Surprisingly though the Conference that looks to have the best performance tho may be the Big East if Louisville beats Boise St. tonight.

The Big 10, SEC and Pac-10 have all had around a .500 bowl season -- showing a lot of parity. The Big 12 had been atrocious.

Be nice if they could keep their footing as well.

Oh well, looks like I'm about to go 16-10 and 11-15 in my picks straight up and against the spread. This game ought to pretty much deflate the "Michigan deserved the rematch in the national championship game" argument.

....no kidding.....as a Cal Bear fan, I was a bit pissed we started off 0-3.....now if USC wins the Pac 10 be 3-3 at best. The whacky part is that we'll be 2-0 vs the Big 10 and 1-0 vs Big 12.......but 0-3 against Mountain West, WAC and ACC. Go figure...........
