Okay, going through the list...

American Beauty... totally overrated.
Chicago... haven't seen it.
Clerks... f-ing brilliant. But I've only seen the Miramax pre-release where Dante dies in the end.
Fantasia.... sucks.
Field of Dreams... never saw it.
Chariots of Fire... dumb. The Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday.
Good Will Hunting... it was all right. The script was much, much better. Which is what it won the Oscar for.
Forrest Gump... hated it. HATED it.
Jules and Jim... never even heard of it.
A Beautiful Mind... snore. Don't think I made it through one viewing.
Monster's Ball... never saw it. Was absolutely uninterested in ever doing so.
Moonstruck... I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! An all-time fave.
Mystic River... no thanks.
Nashville... never saw it.
The Wizard of Oz... don't know if I've seen the whole thing. Did an Oz/Floyd-type-night thingy once. 'Nuff said.
An American In Paris... goofy, Gene Kelly seems lech-y, but a classic.
Easy Rider... never watched the whole thing. Should I be embarrassed to admit that?
The Red Shoes... huh?
2001: A Space Odyssey... never made it through this one. Same for Dr. Strangelove. Hmmm... maybe the problem is me.
Gone With the Wind... I found this film frustrating yet addicting. I'd put Titanic on this list before this one.

Oh, and to the Woody detractors... HE'S A GENIUS! (who's had a few bad cinematic moments).

These are the only films on the list that I've seen:

Fantasia (liked it a lot)
Chariots of Fire (liked it)
Nashville (snore)
The Wizard of Oz (liked it a lot)
Easy Rider (way overrated)
2001: A Space Odyssey (liked it but it was overrated)
Gone With the Wind (I saw it during its 1968 revival. I think I liked it but I can't remember for sure.)

AnnaZ---love reading your thumbnail reviews. You have real talent for the cinematic.

Disagree on a few----for balletomanes, the Red Shoes is a triumph of story and dance. Will watch it forever on TMC.

But I do agree that An American in Paris is so-so. Just ran on TMC recently.......cannot understand the raves for this pic----could hardly watch it. Translating French impressionists to dance was a ditzy idea.
