It happens to everyone who loves movies: You're in a conversation at a bar, or at a wedding, or online, and someone begins rhapsodizing about one of their favorite movies and you can't help but say, "Uh, that movie sucks. It's totally overrated." How two perfectly well-balanced individuals can have such drastically different views of the same film is one of the great wonders of being a film fanatic. It happens to us at Premiere all the time, enough so that sometimes we find ourselves questioning who we work with (boy, did it get ugly here when Love, Actually came out, and some of us are still snickering over our boss's love for Bowfinger, not to mention his affection for The Last Samurai). Well, we decided to let our staff go at each other regarding some of the more beloved movies of all time, and, sure enough, sobbing can still be heard coming from the bathroom stalls. Relationships have been strained. Egos bruised. Consider this a film lovers' quarrel, an admittedly rabid one.

I hope so.
After shooting the director.
I like most of Alfred Hitchcock's films and several are favorites of mine.
As good as NOC is, LA STRADA is a far superior film, on all counts. And every single actor and actress in it, is absolutely amazing!
8 1/2 was also used as a basis for a Broadway show...9; but that didn't really work at all.
8 1/2 is actually more autobio from Fellini, the title coming from the number of movies he had directed to that date.
I too like a lot of his films.
Anything with Julia Roberts--Queen of the Monotone. Ennui, anyone?
See the original ( it really is worth seeing ! ); NEVER see the Kidman one. :-)
Pulp Fiction was awful--then I rewatched it as a parable of redemption and really liked it.
I have the DVD too, but it's kinda like the Notre Dame football team.
Decent to Good, but perpetually overrated.
It was "okay"; not something I would suggest you go out of your way to watch.
I love Casino Royale, it grows on you, its such a grand mess, but the music is great with Herb Alpert.
Have you seen "Russian Ark"?
Entire film shot in one, continual shot in the Hermitage. With thousands of extras. Its a tour through the museum and through Russian history. Its amazing how they could do it in one take for over 90 minutes, and covering nearly a half mile of walking.
LOL.....someday, I'm going to give you a list of movies to see , including a couple of Allen ones, and you WILL like all of the, :-)
maybe, but we've seen this Notre Ame team get killed by competent competition all year long.
And LSU looks eerily similiar to Ohio State from this point LAST year to my eyes.
I can't stand him, so I think I'll take a pass on that one.
Just saw Match Point by Woody Allen and was blown away by it. Chilling, absolutely chilling. Might Aphrodite was funny. The rest is very forgettable.
I have been watching the early English Hitchcocks and then re-watching them while listening to the film historian's comments. This has made them so much more interesting for me and given me new insights on his techniques in his later movies. Awesome director.
Oh my goodness, you are going to be movied out! hehehehehehe
LOL --- please, do not waste your time. I promise you, I despise Allen's humor and hate his cast members.
Woody Bergman
