                   My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Some folks are so dumb that locking them is simply a measure of protecting them from themselves.

    Tell Me A Story of

 kaleidoscopes grand
 of many colours run together
 in a light band
of little people in the Erin Land
dressed in green and pointed shoes
 humming merry songs grand.

 Afternoons spent in the reeds
 watching dragonflies sweep and seed
the dragon ponds in far off land
and rainbows ending in a pot of gold
maidens sporting long braids of curls
knotty tree stumps with little nails
driven in by little folk not yet in their teens
of laughter and moonbeams on a midnight trail.

Ah, Johnn, tell me a story from this great land.

    Ancient Duty Done

Aye, tis far it is, the length o history in this ancient verdant land
in northern hills where magic still flows, through glens so silent sweet
and I sit quite I do, and swear I hear the patter of the Wee Folks feet
upon the wind, along with the rush of great wings, and some warring band

I were Druid to a noble King, in times a old a stone now gone
and I remember the span a time and people as they passed along
for I hold the memories of me race, me task, embedded in a song
and I weep in silence, under skies of rose and pearl at break o dawn

The tall fair red-haired lass with green eyes that sparkled bright
and her song o sweetness that left me shaken with new love
the way she burned in need, yet were tender as a sweet soft dove
and I ached to say such words that would bind her to me so right

But a King called and I went to war, a counselor in his bloody fight
across the hills we faired to go, an enemy to blood in days first light
and red the dawn and the field as well, for wasted chances, wasted rights
and so we parted as lovers often do, in the ebon flow of a hurried night

Ancient now I am, and feeling the dusty hand a Time at last
I wait to write the final chapter to the long story as ordained you see
for only then may I rest at last, beneath the mound beside the sounding sea
and perhaps you will learn of those lived until they too went past

Walk the green land in silence, and it sings to you, it does I swear
listen and youll learn o knights and fights, and great dragons bold of fate
and the struggles of a simple folk caught between famine and noble hate
a sad tale to be sure, but one you too can learn if you but chance to care

Thanks. It's supposed to be a sunrise, I hope it is.

I fear the sun was up long before me today, sometimes I do greet her, but not today. ;)

Here's to a grand day for you. Hope you do lots of emailing with your kids.

To: Soaring Feather
I've gotten two emails from Robert overnight. Thanks for the thought of a grand day. I've got a five hour drive ahead of me today. I'm hoping the valley fog isn't. My son and I are going down to my step-mom's to take care of transfering ownership of my dad's pickup and 5th Wheel to my wife and I. Well, I've got lots to do before we can leave. Talk at ya later. Have a great day.

  Happy Festival of Sleep Day

 When: Always on January 2nd
No, you are not dreaming. Festival of Sleep Day is an opportunity to sleep in, snooze, doze, nap, and catch 40 winks.

We feel this is the perfect date for Festival of Sleep Day. The holidays are over...Wow, weren't they exhausting! It's cold and snowy.... time to hibernate. And, why not re-charge the batteries as a new year of school and work begins?

Festival of Sleep Day is a favorite holiday to catch up on a little sleep. Whether its all day, a full 8 hours, or just a power nap, enjoy the day sleeping. Cozy up in bed on the couch, or any other comfortable place. Oh.... don't forget your favorite stuffed animal.
