My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good night everyone.

Howdy howdy! Merry Christmas eve!
Sure is quiet around here, and you seem kind of glum! :-(
Don't feel bad, everyone's busy and will show up sooner or later! :-)
And the first parts of holidays are the lowest use computer days, I've noticed. Most heavy are the last day or two when the presents are open, the meals are eaten, and everyone is just sitting around before going back to work. They think "What's left, what's left??? Ah! The computer! Quick, turn it on"!
We're having a sudden surge in crowds here, feels like old times again. But it's due to mostly Thai folks who went to the Queen's public gardens this afternoon, and now are walking around down town Chiang Mai at the big street market and launching these "lighter than air" lanterns that are supposed to be lifting your wishes up to the sky! Rather charming! :-)
But with the big drop in foreign tourism, I expect it to be real quiet again tomorrow night!

Can you guess what in winter looks cold and warm at the same time?
Mmmmm, nope! But then I'm no good at riddles!

Merry Christmas, Poets and Friends of the Lair!
Thank You, for your support and contributions to The Dragonflies' Lair. Without you there is no Lair. This year has been a joyful year for us, we celebrated our third year at Free Republic. Many new poets and friends of poets have come to share with us. Dear hearts, one and all I wish for you to have your hearts desire. We write of joy, we write of pain, we write of life with its many faces. It is my fondest joy to have this cyber home, to encourage others to write.
Love and Joy to all!

Perfectly little baby,
Mary's little son,
lying in her loving arms
While Joseph looks on,
The joy of his mother,
God's only son,
and the heavens sing out their song
while shepherds look on.
Wondrous young man,
Mary's little son,
sitting in the temple
while the teachers looked on.
Frightened was his mother
for God's only son,
Feeling how the sword would feel
As she searched on.
Battered was his body,
Mary's precious son
as they pulled him off the cross
as soldiers looked on.
The sorrow of his mother
for God's only son
when they laid him in her lap
so hard to look on.
Empty was the tomb
Gone was Mary's son
when the stone was rolled away
as soldiers ran on.
The joy of his mother
for God's only son
Still echos in that empty tomb
As Heaven sings on.

Tiny Christmas
Where do the bugs spend Christmas, Dad?
Where do they go when its cold?
What do they give each other, Daddy?
Then she sat, and she waited to be told.
So I sat down beside her and held her hand,
And I told her the Truth about Things.
That all of the good bugs have a party,
Where they wait for what Santa Claus brings.
All the fireflies get fresh batteries,
That will last them until the next year,
The butterflies all get new fancy designs,
They so like to be stylish, My Dear!
The ants will get pants that have pockets,
They must carry so much around,
They can pack a few nibbles to munch on,
While theyre working so hard through the year!
The nice bees will each get a compass,
To help them as they fly about,
And they all get the tiniest radio,
Thats to give one another a shout!
For when a bee finds some flowers,
She doesnt just keep them herself,
She calls on her friends, and they help her,
To put honey jars up on the shelf!
So what they are doing in Winter,
Or when its too cold or too wet?
They all sit around writing letters,
And they send them to Santa! You bet!
Up at the North Pole theres a section,
For the notes that are tiny and faint,
But thats where the bugs tiny letters,
Get the message across to a Saint!
Then Santa makes sure that they get things,
With the help of each reindeers hoof,
Every stop that he makes for a chimney,
They sprinkle out dust on the roof!
And that dust settles down where the bugs are,
And then magically finds its way,
To the right kind of insect that needs it,
And it fills the bugs stocking that day!
In the Spring, when you see a bright butterfly,
Or a bee zooming off on its task,
Just remember the good get rewarded,
But its also important to ask!

LOL!
I guess since we're 12 hours ahead and were already partying I was thrown off by the "Silence of the Lair", so to speak. I came by to cheer things up, but I see once everyone got out of bed, that wasn't necessary!! :-)
Merry Christmas!!
