Okay, so the Virginia Extension Office is encouraging folks to plant "America's Anniversary Garden" in honor of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown.

I can do white and red impatiens, but thoughts for blue? We're talking easy to plant/grow, etc.

Discuss.

Here are a few suggestions:

lisianthus

Morning glory

Laurentia

Campanula

Forget-me-not

Texas Blubonnet

Virginia bluebell

I haven't checked out the growing conditions for all of them, but I think the Virginia bluebells (they're perennial, by the way) and the forget-me-nots grow in partial shade. There might be some blue varieties of other flowers like petunias or columbine about.

Evening Corin, that's a great website the VA Extension Office has for the celebration. Lots of choices there.

Bachelor's buttons are blue. There's some blue 'tunias, too.
