Oooooohohohooooooboy. There's a tempest brewin' at our house. We did our annual free credit checks. Seems one company has spliced someone else's accounts onto Big'ol_freeper's report. Their credit is terrible and he's snapping mad. I've never seen him this mad. TransUnion has outsourced its help desk to the Philippines. I wonder if I should call their embassy to warn them. If they thought WWII was bad...

*laying low*

Yikes...

I've repeatedly crossed paths with a woman in town with my same name. She went to my same high school and then later college. So I've had her grades merged with mine a few times from high school and into two different colleges, showing me to have done 'not very well' in nursing, in addition to bouncing checks all over town.

I'm kindof hoping to have cut ties with her with my new married name, but we'll see :~)

When we bought our first home, the mortgage company picked up someone with a similar last name to SirKit, but it wasn't spelled exactly the same. We were able to explain to the Credit Company that SirKit was nowhere near New York City when the other guy was living there. At the loan closing, he just had to sign an affidavit saying he wasn't that person.

Our main problem over the years is that folks always spell our last name incorrectly. SirKit was denied credit at a store once because they couldn't find any credit history, even though we'd had several credit cards by that time. When I called about it, I asked them the spelling they had for our last name, sure enough, they'd spelled it wrong. SO annoying.
