When I was single, I worked the 3-11 shift and would do my grocery shopping after work in the middle of the night. Just me and the shelf-stockers!
That's a fun option! I like going at lunchtime because the butcher's counter guys aren't busy and will cut me weird things like "one pound of rump roast".
The local paper today had two stories at the top of the front page, right next to each other with similar graphs. #1 was "Global Warming is Our Fault" and was about how the rise in temperatures is catastropic blah-blah-blah. #2 was about the hideous cold we're getting this weekend and how Sunday has a high of 0 (which is not a temperature, it's missing something).
I used to go at eight on Saturdays...no one out then, or hardly. That was the commissary in Germany...and then they changed their hours because they said there weren't enough customers that early to justify being open. But that's what I liked! Heh...
Usually isn't too bad after seven in the evening, but I hate going right after work - always crowded, always lots of cranky people who, like me, just want to get home. Unless I absolutely have to, I don't stop for stuff on the way home.
