And there were some really nice folks there, too...it's just that the loudmouths kinda stood out. And it was, in general, a younger crowd. Still at that obnoxious stage where they think they know everything. ;-)
There were some other folks that I talked to a bit, but distances make for not much happening, ya know? And you don't get to know someone in a five minute mingling kind of conversation at a reception. The only people we spent a lot of time with were family and a few others, the only one near my age being a guy five years younger who's planning to start at seminary in a short while. Not an option...
Hey, I met my husband in Minnesota, and I've never been to Minnesota. You got to know me at a distance, well enough to move out here and for not as fun a reason.
I understand though really, just giving you a hard time. I'd have been focused on family too, been awhile since you've seen some of them. Did you get to see anything touristy at all?
This is the wrong place to say that distance means there's no chance for a relationship :-)
Seriously have you considered giving that Catholic site a(nother?) try? I understand it's gotten a lot bigger in the last few years... could be some nice guys in your area who just assume all the local girls are insane and don't bother trying any more.
