I've never programmed, beyond little word games in Basic, wayyyy back in the day. I told them that up front when I was hired. Maybe they have a different idea of "non-programmer" than I do.I dunno if there are Visual Basic classes nearby...but maybe I'll look into it.

It doesn't hurt, even just for keeping your brain active. You don't have to retrain as a programmer! But a little VB, maybe a scripting class - ASP or Perl - would really compliment your other great skills.
If you're really interested there's probably a set of classes starting in the next week or so.... the community colleges of this country are an amazing resource that people often overlook.
