I'm *good* at PC / customer support stuff! That's all I want to do, low pay or no. But it seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs.
It really isn't, Rosie. One thing they can't outsource to India is on-site repair. And personal, hand-holding customer support is easier in person. I know you're great at your job and I bet this is just first-of-year "let's make everything shiny" pressure.
That said, if you're worried about them thinking you're not experience enough, why not look around at evening certification classes you could take and ask them to pay for you to go? Even if they say no, it makes them see you're working to stay current, and if they say yes, hey, free upgrade.
