Man sprays clerk, then robs grocery storeA man robbed the South Union Grocery in the 10000 block of Tilley Road on Thursday morning by spraying a substance thought to be Mace in the clerk's face and fleeing with money from the cash register, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office said.
The suspect walked into the store about 7:30 a.m., took a can of soda pop to the counter and sprayed a substance in the clerk's face, Thurston County Sheriff's Lt. Chris Mealy said. The suspect then demanded that the clerk give him the money from the register, Mealy said.
The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, he said.
A store co-owner described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet
2 inches tall, in his 30s and wearing a baseball cap, a flannel shirt and dampened jeans.
The clerk was treated at the scene and wasn't badly injured, Mealy said.
That's only about 5 miles from here... same guy as last night - with a friend?
Uh... maybe he needs to find another line of work...
Sounds like the two went out for a evening of hell-raising. Good thing the police caught them! I'm glad to know the clerk is OK, too.
