The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Jr's at a dance? Go for the coffee, man. You need to be able to know exactly when he gets in... none of thise "I was back at 11 but you were asleep" nonsense.

Did you download LOST last week? I still haven't seen it. Not really in the mood tonight, but how about tomorrow?

I do NOT have it on the DVR. Had it set at the wrong time and it only got the repeat from the week before. Have it set now for 10 for next week.

He's gone to a movie now. Should be home by midnight-ish.

Wine won the first round. But I opened a cheap bottle.

Sure, we could watch it sometime tomorrow! Same setup? I could copy it to your 'puter.

Last week's LOST was actually pretty interesting, imho. We watched it last night. Haven't watched this week's yet, but it's back to Jake, Kate, and Sawyer, so I don't have high hopes for it. :-/

It was interesting last week... but I still feel like they're making it up as they go along.

Jack, Sawyer Kate... yay.

Y'all need to watch it. I almost asked questions already.

So, when you do, just remember my question is "what's up with ~that~?"

We're planning on going out to a movie tomorrow night, so we'll probably watch it Sunday.

I must admit that I enjoyed Labirynth as a kid. Bowie was freaky and made a good villain. In this one he looks completele and shockingly normal ... and made a great brilliant eccentric.

Morning All - "sweet the sound of the falling rain" 'specially when we got the starter fertilizer down last afternoon. gypsygirl is not amused by the rain as it has postponed her morning walk.

btw, OT, it appears the storm came through about 1:30 or so. Thunder wasn't sufficiently loud to wake us up, but since Gypsy was snoozing by the bed this morning, it apparently was enough to stir her to her alternative location.

The lakes have formed again in thebackyard. Guess I ought to fill them in this year.

Possibly not--our favorite weatherwoman said that the soil is only thawed to 4" and the ground is frozen below that, so your 'lakes' could be nothing more than frozen soil. Naturally, she included this information so she could advise everyone to watch out for flash flooding since the rain had no where else to go :-)

Well...these lakes have been persistent since thesunroom construction. I should build them up and plant annuals there or something.

It was a lovely little thunderstorm here. Steve had to go out and get samples in it. Overtime!

We have a tiny thin layer of ice on everything. And they're predicting 4-6 inches of snow tonight.

Eww!! We are only supposed to get about an inch of snow; when I was raking yesterday I discovered we still had plenty of ice in the shady places even though our temps had been up in the 50's all week. This has been a nasty winter.
