The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That was my lunch. I had two tacos for dinner. That was a lot more calories. And a margarita which was probably as many calories as that lunch.

Of course the alcohol made me swell up so any weight I lost from the light lunch, I got back...

Happy Friday!

Okay, so it's a Rosie O'Donnell story, but it's still one of my favorites:

"I went on Weight Watchers. They allow you 200 extra calories a week.

I had two Amstel Lights.

After two beers, who the hell cares about Weight Watchers?

*sigh*

I'm soooo glad it's Friday.

And that I get Monday off, though unless I work most of today instead of using the extra hours from last night, I'm not sure I have enough PTO to cover Monday. We shall see what plays out, I suppose.

I want to *read*, Gandalf. And stuff.

You only get Monday off if you have PTO to cover it? That's not exactly giving you a holiday, is it?

In other news, I dreamed about one of the guys that was at the wedding.

No, not *that* kind of dream... Dwarves!

But I was in a mob of people all fighting to shake his hand. Couple of my siblings were with me.

I have NO idea how to interpret that.

The building is closed...so I kinda gotta take it. But apparently because I'm hourly, I have to use PTO if I want to get paid for the holidays.

I know. It seems like there should be two separate categories, but I'm told there isn't. On the other hand, it seems like I shoulda used up more PTO time over the holidays if they were really using it for Christmas and New Year, so maybe the payroll company didn't actually dip into my PTO. I haven't sat down with my statements yet to figure it. Sad, I know.

I suppose it says something about how far gone I am to caffeine that yesterday I had four shots of espresso, an Excedrin in the afternoon (has 65mg of caffeine), a 16 ounce Mountain Dew...and still fell asleep pretty much the second my head hit the pillow.

Kinda sad, if you think about it. I should probably cut back. Someday.

Exactly.

And at any given moment, it's always "today".

Which doesn't bode well for lowering my caffeine dependency.

hmf :~)

It's perplexing... I was asleep on the couch when you came to get Cisco... couldn't keep my eyes open.

Then we went to bed, and I couldn't get to sleep for the life of me. Was up till after midnight I think.

Slept in today.
